Orientation season is underway!
Our officers (and canines) are excited to meet incoming students and their families, share safety tips and introduce the services available to our campus community. Welcome, and we can't wait to see you on campus in the fall!
In observance of Memorial Day, our administrative offices will be closed today, May 25.
We will resume normal business hours tomorrow, May 26. You can reach a USCPD officer 24/7 by calling 803-777-4215. In an emergency, please call 9-1-1.
The wait is over! ⏰
The new campus safety app, CarolinaSAFE, has arrived! CarolinaSAFE is replacing the Rave Guardian app. Current users will lose access to Rave Guardian on May 24, 2026. Make the switch now to stay connected! Available in your Apple app and Google Play stores.

Q: Why do some @CarolinaAlert notifications come via text and others don’t?
A: Texts are only sent for true emergencies—situations posing immediate risk to life/safety that may require action (shelter, evacuate, etc.). Alerts vary by incident, reach, and location.

Fellow Gamecocks:
Unlocked bikes = gifts to criminals
Do yourself a favor: lock it up with a solid U-lock (through the frame—and wheel if you can) to a bike rack. 💯
We are proud to share that Officer W. Luzzi has officially graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. He was sworn in as a Class 1 Officer by Chief Wuchenich yesterday.
Big moment for three of our Campus Safety Officers (CSO)—they’re graduating from @UofSC! 🎓

Congrats—we’re rooting for you!
