On the left is Nikhil Ravishankar. He went to school in New Zealand, worked all his life in NZ. Yet in 2025 when he was appointed CEO of Air New Zealand, the wave of online racism directed at him became such a tsunami that the country's 3 leading media outlets, the New Zealand Herald, 1News and Radio New Zealand, had to shut down their comments section. The sheer volume of racist comments made it impossible for moderators to do their job. It was like half the population of New Zealand had decided to be racist on Ravishankar.

On the right is Air India’s current CEO - New Zealander Campbell Wilson whose appointment in 2022 attracted no such backlash in India. Wilson hails from Christchurch, arguably the most racist city in New Zealand.

Their names were Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta.

They were from Madhya Pradesh. They worked in Pune.

On the night of May 19 2024 they were riding a motorcycle in Kalyani Nagar when a Porsche Taycan hit them at high speed. Both died.

The driver was 17 years old. His name was Vedant Agarwal. His father Vishal Agarwal is one of Pune’s wealthiest builders.

He had spent the evening at a restaurant in Koregaon Park celebrating his Class 12 board exam results.

The restaurant served the group of minors alcohol until midnight. He paid Rs 48,000 for the drinks using his grandfather’s credit card.

He was drunk when he got behind the wheel of an unregistered Porsche worth over Rs 2.4 crore.

The initial order from a juvenile court asked him to write a 300 word essay on road accidents.

The country was furious.

His father Vishal Agarwal was arrested for attempting to obstruct justice.

His grandfather and two doctors were arrested for allegedly attempting to swap the juvenile’s blood sample at a hospital to conceal evidence of alcohol consumption.

The restaurant that served alcohol to minors was investigated. Police officers who handled the initial case were suspended.

The juvenile was eventually sent to a remand home.

Vishal Agarwal spent 22 months in jail before the Supreme Court granted him bail in March 2026.

Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta were cremated in Madhya Pradesh.

Their families are still waiting for the trial to conclude.

A 17 year old in an unregistered luxury car killed two working people on a night out.

His family spent months trying to make it go away.

I watched @narendramodi ji’s Hyderabad speech very carefully. His appeal for economic self-reliance, sustainable living, and reduced import dependency was much needed, and people listen to him. But his govt and the @BJP4India state govts should lead by example. Here are a few of my asks from the govts.

1) Shift to online inaugurations of ALL projects. No city needs a massive VIP entourage and 30 police cars blocking traffic every 15 days because a minister has to come to inaugurate a bridge/road/tunnel/hospital. This is also non-essential travel. VIP entourages are going out of hand and that’s a waste of public money.

2) Most politicians, from all parties, spend huge amounts of money on lavish weddings. There should be a ceiling on that first. At least here @BJP4India can take the lead.

3) Prioritising Made-in-India and locally manufactured products is a very necessary ask, but again, should be started from the top. What stops @BJP4India politicians from wearing a made-in-India watch, carrying a made-in-India phone, wearing made-in-India textiles?

People listen to you @narendramodi because you usually practise what you preach, but what about the rest of your govt and the state BJP govts? When will they walk the talk?

कटू बोलतेय, पण सत्य आहे. हा जो आरोपी आहे तो म्हणे ह्या आधी ह्याच प्रकारच्या गुन्ह्यात दोन वेळा पकडला गेला होता, तरीही त्याला जामीन मिळाला, जो कोणीतरी दिला. त्या चार वर्षांच्या लेकराला अश्या वेदना देताना, दगडाने ठेचून तिची हत्या करताना त्याला काहीही वाटलं नाही. अश्या नराधमाला का ठेवायचं तुरुंगात करदात्याच्या पैशावर जिवंत? त्याला खरं तर जमावाच्याच ताब्यात द्यायला पाहिजे पोलिसांनी. अर्थातच तसं होणार नाही.

महाराष्ट्राचे पोलीस दोन निष्पाप हिंदू साधूंना खुनी जमावाच्या ताब्यात देऊ शकतात पण भीमराव कांबळीला मात्र पोलीस संरक्षणात न्यायालयात आणले जाईल. तो मानसिक रुग्ण आहे, त्याच्या विकृतीला तो जबाबदार नाही असे युक्तिवाद केले जातील, आणि काही महिन्यांनी तो जामिनावर सुटून परत मोकाट फिरू लागेल.

संताप, हतबलता, उद्वेग ह्या भावनांनी फुटून जाण्याशिवाय आपल्या हातात काहीही नाही. हे लिहीतानासुद्धा माझा संताप संताप होतोय.

मुख्यमंत्री @Dev_Fadnavis म्हणत आहेत ‘काही झालं तरी त्याला फाशी देऊ’, पण ते त्यांच्या हातात कुठे आहे? अगदी अश्याच २००८ च्या नागपूरच्या लहान मुलीवरचा अत्याचार आणि खून ह्या केस मध्ये फाशीची शिक्षा झालेला वसंत दुपारे आज २०२६ उजाडले तरी छान जिवंत आहे आणि करदात्यांच्या पैशानी सरकारी पाहुणचार झोडतोय. ह्या केसमध्ये देखील काहीही होणार नाही, एक दोन महिन्यात लोक विसरतील, भीमराव कांबळे जामिनावर सुटेल आणि अजून एखादी निष्पाप पोरगी बळी जाईल. कायद्याचा धाकच राहिला नाहीये कुणाला! भारतीय न्यायव्यवस्था तर एक मोठा विनोदच आहे.

Parents, stay vigilant.
The current landscape in #Maharashtra is deeply concerning. We must keep a close watch on our children:
Verify their friend circles.
Limit/monitor social media use.
Constant communication is the only shield.
Digital education and awareness for our kids and teens is no longer optional, it is a MUST.
The scale of the global ecosystem of coercsion and conversion we are facing is visible in recent cases in Amravati, Nagpur, Pune, Nashik, Kolhapur, Mumbai.
While we appreciate the determination of CM @Dev_Fadnavis and the hard work of the Maharashtra ATS, the growing law-and-order worry cannot be ignored.
The opposition remains silent for votebank politics, and legacy media is reluctant to report. The responsibility now lies with digital media to expose these infiltrators and assaulters.
​The solution must be decisive:
Fast-track courts for immediate justice.
Empowered police stations in vulnerable areas.
Network of credible NGOs to expose radical ideologies.
With the Anti-Conversion Bill 2026 now in play, it’s time to root out these radical elements. Strictest action - zero leniency.

Please please, please protect your children. Don’t let them go anywhere alone, without trusted adult supervision till they are ten at least. Teach them to not trust strangers, or accept anything from them.

This advice goes against the grain of everything I believe in, but the #nasrapur r@pe/murder proves that there are many monsters in this world who have access to cheap p0rn and no outlet for their lust and depravities. There is no fear of the law, and Indian judiciary is a big joke!

This 65-year-old man, Bhimaji Kamble, raped & brutally murdered a 3-year-old girl in Maharashtra. In the past, he raped & killed two more minor girls. The justice system gave him bail in both cases. While on bail, he raped & killed this toddler.

No suprise that the Supreme Court will again give him bail seeing his future.
