In furtherance of the #SilverShield initiative, deputies from the District of Maryland worked with Baltimore County Police Department, Maryland State Police, and Arlington County Police Department (VA) to recover a 15-year-old, critically-missing child.
On January 2, 2025, members of the Jewish Uniformed Service Association celebrated the end of Chanukah by presenting law enforcement partners from the District of Maryland with letters of appreciation written by local school children. #BeTheDifference.
In furtherance of the #SilverShield initiative, the District of Maryland supported the "Santa with a Badge" event hosted by Seat Pleasant Police Department, MD. The USMS supports programs like this and "Shop With a Cop" to help strengthen community ties during the holiday season.
In furtherance of the #SilverShield initiative, the USMS participated in the Shop with a Cop program hosted by Anne Arundel County Police Department. The District of Maryland continues to prioritize community engagement to strengthen public safety partnerships across the state.
Upon reviewing evidence gathered during an interagency investigation led by the #USMS, a federal jury convicted Igor Yasinov, 35, of four counts of Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers or Employees, Inflicting Bodily Injury at the conclusion of a four-day trial.
In furtherance of the #SilverShield initiative, the District of Maryland and law enforcement partners supported a youth lacrosse clinic hosted by the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation.

During Operation Silver Shield, the District of Maryland partnered with the other members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force to arrest 232 fugitives. Over the course of 90 days, law enforcement worked hand-in-hand with community partners to #BeTheDifference.
On August 6, 2024, deputies from the District of Maryland's Greenbelt office joined local law enforcement at #NNO (National Night Out). Our #SilverShield Unit proudly attends community events in hopes of inspiring future generations to join the #USMS and #BeTheDifference.
