I would take into the fact that all medical records are electronic and it’s a lot easier to get healthcare compared to the old timers. All you need is a medical document saying your have this or that and from what. On top of that you got so much free resource and information to help file a claim. It also doesn’t take much to hit 90% or 100% disability it most cases just three major things can land you there plus a few small things. Just to mention a few sleep apnea is 50%, mental health 50-70% usually or more, low back can get up to 50%. Just from those three you’ll be at 80-90% add a few 10-30% and you’re at 100%. I would agree with fraud in a sense you could exaggerate claims especially things that aren’t imaged or result based even so you can still exaggerate with those too. Also doesn’t help all dbq and what it takes to get to a higher level are public knowledge. Outside of that I don’t see how anyone else could commit fraud.

People should educate themselves it’s VA disability and compensation. Your percentage is compensation out of lost income for jobs you can no longer preform etc.. While the VA has extra codes for disability on top of your compensation. I will say the younger folks just have better documentation than most of the older folks. On top of that the DBQ and what it takes to get certain percentage is public knowledge. Unfortunately, they’re will be dishonest people that will lie or exaggerate symptoms but that’s on the VA to look into fraud. I’m more surprised they don’t get caught or later on have their compensation adjusted. Overtime some things that people claim will eventually improve with continues ongoing medical care.
