We’re proud to welcome 500 members of the Independent Steelworkers Alliance from Liberty Steel’s wire mill in Bartonville, Ill., into the USW family following their vote to join our union. Together, our voices are stronger ✊.
STEWART: “The worse it is, the folksier they get.”
After Colbert pantsed @RepTimBurchett’s Trump-Epstein coverup hypocrisy like @RepFaison at a high school hoops game, now it’s Jon Stewart’s turn to give Burchett a national TV wedgie.
But “protect the kids”, right guys?
On this day in labor history, JFK signed the Equal Pay Act into law, a key part of his New Frontier Program. It was a win for working people, but the fight for fair wages, regardless of gender, continues. Fair pay is a right we will continue to fight for ✊.

Road trip! The USW Bat Light is going cross country to spotlight the vital services federal workers provide – and the threats the administration’s cuts pose to all Americans. Make sure to follow us to see where we end up!
Lobbying our elected officials is a right we can’t take for granted. USW activists nationwide are meeting with legislators to fight for workers and their families. Recently, District 7 Women of Steel showed up strong in Madison, advocating for UI, workers’ comp, and more.
Stripping collective bargaining and union rights from workers across the federal government is the very definition of union busting — and a blatant attempt to silence us.
We will fight this outrageous attack on our members with every fiber of our collective being.
Up on Capitol Hill: @RepLindaSanchez looks on as @steelworkers legislative director Roy Houseman addresses the media. Sanchez wants Congress to close the de minimis loophole, which allows parcels worth less than $800 to be imported from China virtually duty-free.
