To Governor @GavinNewsom:
California should create a international center of wildfire science and lead the world in figuring out how to stop this spiral of destruction. As today, California is far from leading the world on protection against wildfires. Lost opportunity.
Robert Kennedy of @UTFireResearch did a great job presenting our research findings on lithium-ion battery vent gas hazards at @SFPE_Inc webinar https://t.co/A2LY8nAofG

Interesting story about #BESS racks with Samsung SDI cells "passing" UL9540A such that they “can be installed without needing to add separate fire-fighting system(s)." That's important, but #fire isn't the only hazard (as we know from Arizona).

@UTFireResearch is looking forward to continuing our partnerships and collaboration with FPRF under Amanda's leadership. Best of luck to Casey in future endeavors.
Amanda Kimball has been named executive director of the Fire Protection Research Foundation, as long time lead, Casey Grant, plans to retire. Congrats to Amanda, and best of luck to Casey, you will be missed! https://t.co/go76wVXp1m
We typically assume that firebrands enter attic spaces through vents. No obvious vents near this ignition. Perhaps gutter fire burned through fascia? Understanding penetration is important for development of new material and building standards. Glad firefighter made this save!
This happened earlier today in Windsor. Spot fire on a roof got into an attic. This fire fighter ripped tiles off the roof by hand to get at it and put it out. House saved. @nbcbayarea#KincadeFire
All over the world informal settlements have been devastated by fire. While there are many burdens associated with poverty, how do we minimize the fire burden?
This is how informal settlements burn in Cape Town. One person was burnt beyond recognition in this latest Vygieskraal fire. Gift of the Givers offered services to assist with humanitarian relief and provide food and blankets.

You know the CA refinery that blew up earlier this week? When FFs arrived on-scene they pretty much found the place abandoned. Gates were locked and the fire suppression system was shut off. The company has lawyered up. https://t.co/jsCd21Sjts
