The biggest learning for me from this OpenAI maths fiasco is that these companies use our data, anonymised maybe, to train their models even when we’re on a paid plan. Wasn’t the whole point of paying them money to avoid having our data used for training? #openai

This was only a matter of time after SpaceX acquired Cursor, but situations like this are great news for open source. You can’t have a flourishing business depend on one of only two companies when things can change this quickly.

@drummatick I assume when you send that command, it has to go through the agent loop, the LLM gets a message with the system prompt, tools and your message which is a shell command & then it uses the available to execute your command & this iteration cost tokens?

@OpenAI Works the same with Anthropic too. I am sad to leave Claude subscription simply bcz ChatGPT is worth more for the same money. Beyond other discussions, I just love the fact that Claude app has much better user experience. I will be hoping that ChatGPT matches that soon.

I don't know if this is how it works with other subscriptions at other companies but this was such a nice gesture. I went in expecting that the remainder of my Go subscription would go to waste once I upgrade to Plus but not really. Loved it. @OpenAI

@sobhan_nejad Especially given how Anthropic is the only one being targetted for the watermark stuff even though all labs including OpenAI will be implementing it. But then Elon sits well with Anthropic & not OpenAI & its his platform but then DoW sits well with OpenAI & not Anthropic.

@thsottiaux Can you improve the ChatGPT mobile app? Claude has it so much better. At least allow users to set different themes & colour combinations & more like we have in WhatsApp app. Since coding is a solved problem, it should be pretty straightforward.

Consumer apps are an exception. You can still build a simple app that’s basically a smart wrapper around an LLM, but if you build it well and it solves a real problem for non-technical users, you can still make money.

The days of building SaaS for simple problems & selling it for big bucks are gone. With software becoming a cheap commodity, if you can build it in 1 month with AI, what makes you think the company you’re trying to sell can’t spare 3 engineers for 2 months & build it better?
