The UfM Delegation’s mission to Brussels, led by Deputy Secretary General for Sustainable Development, Nisreen Tamimi, provided a timely opportunity to strengthen Euro-Mediterranean cooperation on transport connectivity - a key driver of trade, investment, resilience, competitiveness and regional integration. As we enter the final phase of Regional Transport Action Plan 2021–2027 and advance the EU’s Pact for the Mediterranean and EU Ports Strategy, fruitful meetings were held with Anna Panagopoulou, Head of Cabinet of the European Commissioner for Transport and Tourism, and Mona Björklund, DG MOVE Director. #UfM #Mediterranean #Transport #Connectivity #RegionalCooperation

💧 The Mediterranean is warming 20% faster than the global average, and 180 million people already live in water scarcity.
In Rome, at the @UNESCO IHP & WWAP Symposium of the Euro-Mediterranean Water Forum, UfM Senior Deputy Secretary General Mariam Diallo put it simply: cooperation is not a luxury of good times. It's a necessity in hard ones.
Today at the Euro-Mediterranean Water Forum in Rome, the acting UfM Secretary General, Fadi Hajali, underlined the need to turn our shared commitments on water into concrete action, following yesterday’s UfM Ministerial Meeting on Water: “Water does not respect borders, so managing it well means countries have to sit at the same table, whether or not they agree on everything else. This is where the UfM plays its role: convening countries and all relevant stakeholders to work through shared challenges together.”
