Howard-trained talent is taking center stage in CrazySexyCool: The TLC Musical.

Mikari Tarpley (BFA ’26), Kalen Robinson (BFA ’20), and Trenton McKenzie Beavers (BFA ’23) are bringing the music, energy, and legacy of TLC to life while carrying lessons forged at Howard’s Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts into the professional spotlight.

For these Bison, the discipline, confidence, and community built at Howard continue to shape how they show up, take up space, and command the stage.

Kennedi Reece (A Different World)
Reece recently graduated from Howard University. She will make her screen debut in A Different World. Kennedi plays Hazel in the series.

Hazel, a pastor’s daughter whose horizons are broadened at Hillman. As Hazel goes a little “buck wild” for the first time, Deborah and Rashida teach her that she can stay true to her faith while pursuing new relationships and experiences, Reece says. “They’re teaching her that she can be an individual on her own rather than relying on [the beliefs] she’s grown up with.”
