In 2015, Jonathan Buckelew went to a chiropractor for a routine neck adjustment.
During the appointment, something went horribly wrong. Jonathan became dizzy, disoriented, and unresponsive.
He was rushed to a Georgia hospital, where doctors failed to diagnose that he was having a brain stem stroke.
The delay cost him the chance for treatment that may have changed everything.
Jonathan survived, but he was left with locked-in syndrome. His mind is still there. But his body is almost completely paralyzed. He can only communicate through tiny eye movements.
Years later, a jury awarded him $75 million after finding that doctors had failed to properly diagnose his stroke.
