@BlokeOnWheels The EU is not a member of the Council of Europe's ECHR and never was - the UK was never protected against the EU by the ECHR when we were a member of the EU - no EU citizen can take the EU to the ECHR courts! That's the real truth!

@crimlawuk No we won't! And, as you will know as a KC, the EU as a body is not a signatory to the Council of Europe's ECHR - so why are they immune from such accusations of being a 'rogue state'?

@NicholasTyrone The point is that we don't need to be in the ECHR just because we're in Europe! Also, being a member of the ECHR is not helping Ukraine at the moment, is it? And finally, the EU as a body is NOT an ECHR member! No EU individual can take the EU to the ECHR - look it up!

@darrenmccaffrey Check the wording of the agreement - it usually states the max amount they can raise rent every year - unless they are threatening to use a section 21 on you for a 'no fault' eviction if you refuse.
