This lady has rekindled that memory for me. I remember teaching my kid about her story. Centuries later, the same pain of watching a tree being felled remains.

The Ram Mandir Trust has refused to be accountable under the RTI Act claiming it is an independent trust. Further, Ministry of Home Affairs has classified the entire file regarding the setting up of the Trust as "confidential” - refusing to disclose it under section 8(1)(g) of the RTI law on the grounds that disclosure would endanger lives! Unfortunately the CIC has upheld both these absurd refusals, shielding the Trust and its functioning from public scrutiny under the RTI Act.
