We’ve done pretty well all things considered. Can even see potential debutants from this group if their VFL form is good enough. Well done to the crew on draft night! Great effort!
@RobWaters10 Ah fair enough. Reckon they’ve done well on paper and got the positional needs. In terms of execution is a different story and as you said who really knows. Can only hope for the best.🤞
@DamianWhite42@Jousting_Sticks If Cameron goes down that would be my option. Still reckon Key Forward is his best position but we will likely keep him in defence unfortunately. I’d rather give something a crack and lose than try the same thing that did work in the first place.
That would be ideal but with Moore in his current form and concussion I just can’t back him in as a reliability. Howes seems to be solid enough at VFL level but who knows where the club will take it. Surely either Howes or Ryan gets a game. I’d be annoyed if Parker comes in as we need a tall for tall. Albeit Ryan is more that medium defender but can chop out as a spare.
Just commit to the 2010 defensive system with all medium talls helping out as Frampton is the main and only KD. We seem to be at our defensive best that way even back in 2010 when you had Maxwell, Goldsack and Toovey from memory. Neither were definitive talls but gave everything to hold the fort.
@pommyinozYT If Wright has full control it’ll be a mixture of the Pies 2020 and 2021 season efforts. It’ll suck for now but in time the process will be worth it. The change won’t be immediate like the Pies but the club is starting from scratch and will be better for it.
Although I agree to a point but he just wasn’t ready. Needed more time in my opinion. There are still standards that need to be met even at the level of being a contributor. I know the club won’t do it but why not make him play some VFL games. It would be such a win/win and he would then be able to get match fitness and build form which would only improve his confidence. I’m tired of this narrative of the VFL being a bad place or essentially a punishment. We have the depth to be used so why not take advantage of it. Expose some of the kids and see where they are at.
@MattSmith_567@jimmy_flagpies And what if he doesn’t come good. I’ve normally been more on the positive side but I’m also realistic. Moore is so off it as it currently stands. Yeah he could improve with more games but to the level we need him at then I have doubts but again more than happy to be wrong.
@jimmy_flagpies@MattSmith_567 I hope you’re right but the distance from that is significant. It is as if he has completely forgotten how to play the game.
@MattSmith_567@jimmy_flagpies Each to their own but Moore has been worse than terrible. The standard he has shown just isn’t good enough. We should expect better. The choices and mistakes he has made are unforgivable. Player don’t just get good overnight when they have played that poorly.
@MattSmith_567 He is ready enough which was the quote. VFL he leads the backline basically so he’d have a lesser role of responsibility at AFL level. He’s good enough to take a risk on him.
@MattSmith_567 He had a ton of supply which made it tough. I’d take him over Moore. Plus he’d be a 2nd option at best and Howe could still play as a third. Structurally it makes more sense and Moore is just nowhere near it unfortunately.
@superfooty Pies need Bobby but Bobby is about a month away. Played with the flu and looked out of it. Was suppose to have a full game as I doubt that was achieved. A couple of unfortunate backward steps but it happens when you are building to a comeback.
@MattSmith_567 He was very good. Expectations were low as he was coming off an injury but he certainly exceeded those expectations. Can only hope he learns and grows from here. His confidence should be pretty high from that performance.
