Decided to do some quick digital inks over JRJR lines. Two treatments. I don’t even like amazing Spider-Man. But JR JR has never lost the compositional goods. The lighting is based on to Paolo Rivera’s rendition in the painted cover.
Come on, guys.
The whole JRJR ASM cover situation makes me incredibly sad. He was and is a legend. The quintessential comic book artist and one of the greatest storytellers the medium has had.
Just very disheartening to see the extreme and vocal disrespect towards his work.
Nobody deserves the cover of Amazing Spider-Man #1000 more than John Romita Jr.
He created his first Spider-Man character when he was 13. That character was THE PROWLER. He’s been drawing Spider-Man since he was in his 20s. The man is 70. His LIFE has been Spider-Man.
Jason’s actual canon post crisis Robin days and his progression to red hood will always be way more interesting than whatever bullshit they retcon and smack onto him in modern comics like it was a right there just pick up a fucking book
How fake “rehabilitation” believers look at you when you tell them that a criminal was rehabilitated, reintegrated, and can be a functional member of society again, instead of being chained up like tai lung 10 miles under Alcatraz for the rest of their life
