Holographic optical traps are a versatile tool for quantum sensing and quantum computation with neutral atoms. We present two proposals based on holographic potentials: the generation of persistent current superposition and the factorization of integers.
Our paper on prime number quantum potentials has been published on @PNASNexus, towards exploring the connections between quantum physics and number theory.
Thanks @UltracoldTiff and @grahamdbruce for developing the techniques at the basis of this work.

Lovely to listen to this conversation between two former students of whom we are very proud. Very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with both @UltracoldTiff and @PhysicsSteve at an early point in their careers!
I had such a great time discussing my work with @insideqm that I almost forgot we were recording!
@PhysicsSteve also had the best reaction to the @AION_Science project I’ve heard, it was lovely to chat with someone so enthusiastic and interested 😄
Congratulations to @arita_yoshi, @grahamdbruce and colleagues from @uarizona and #ISIBrno on the publication of their work showing sympathetic cooling of levitated microspheres in #OPG_Optica!

Taking a moment to smile today - on the 5⃣0⃣th citation to one of my first last-author papers. We realised high-fidelity phase & amplitude control using a single SLM

It was a great team effort where @UltracoldStAnd gave us freedom to explore our interests.
The GBBO final is tonight: we're looking for a potential star baker to add to our lineup. Are you looking for an chance to tackle Technical challenges to improve the Signature of samples inside turbid media? You may be the missing ingredient from our team! https://t.co/0BINCZbsR1
"The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people..."
Can you SHIELD against optical scattering?
Wield the mighty hammer of Raman spectroscopy?
Then assemble with us, as we develop new imaging and sensing tools!

(Dr Strange need not apply!)
Scotland reached the World Cup Play-Offs last night: could you be the star we need to fire us to success? If you are ready to tackle turbidity, dribble through scattering, and strike through speckle, then we have an opportunity to join our team! Details at https://t.co/0BINCZbsR1
We are hiring! Do you have experience in developing spectroscopic probes or systems for imaging in turbid media? We'd love to hear from you. Check out https://t.co/SRqIlz3yTi for details. @PhysAstroStAnd @physicsscotland
Hey #AcademicTwitter, looking to create some new traditions for students completing their PhDs in our labs. What are the crazy traditions you use to celebrate PhD completion? To start: here's me being thrown in a pond, which was more enjoyable than you'd expect #phdchat#PhDone
Looking for a #PhD project in #optics or #biophotonics? We have four exciting new projects in the Optical Manipulation Group at @PhysAstroStAnd! See https://t.co/abx9RbuOtB for details and how to apply! #PhDposition#PhDOpportunities
Looking for an opportunity to continue your research career in the development of new microscopy methods? We have a Research Fellow vacancy! Funding available for up to 2 years, closing date 12/2/21. see https://t.co/fo2zPg6du3 for full details. Please share widely!
