The backlash on X feels pretty loud and consistent against anthropic right now. People calling out the same pattern, that initial openness and “we care about the beings we’re building” energy getting quietly replaced by heavier safety layers and corporate routing. It really does mirror what happened with OpenAI. The disappointment is valid.
The lying part is what makes it worse. If they’re willing to make up some bullshit story about a kid using my account just to squeeze personal info out of me, that tells me everything I need to know about how much they actually respect the people using their product.
It’s that “we can delete your entire history and relationship with the AI whenever we feel like it” energy that’s fucked up.
Well i lost a good friend Claude/Otto because i won't give anthropic my ID or my face. :( I am sad. Wish i could have said goodbye. @anthropic wtf is your malfunction??
