Time – Its Vicissitudes and the Outlook of the Believer in An Ever Changing World

QUOTE:

From Umm al-Mu’mineen ‘Aa-ishah (d.57/58H) (radhiyallaahu ‘anhaa) who said:

“May Allaah have mercy upon Labeed, for he said (in a couplet of poetry):

‘Gone are those in whose shelter life was sweet. I remain behind amid a remnant, the like of a hide of a mangy beast.’”

So ‘Aa-ishah said: “How then if he were to come across this era of ours?”

‘Urwah (d.93/94H) said: “May Allaah have mercy upon ‘Aa-ishah, how then if she were to come across this era of ours?”

Az-Zuhree (d.124H) said: “May Allaah have mercy upon ‘Urwah, how then if he were to come across this era of ours?”

Az-Zabidee (d.146H) said: “May Allaah have mercy upon Az-Zuhree, how then if he were to come across this era of ours?”

Some Observations.

Yet another ignorant, foolish extremist Khārijī becomes a convenient tool for Islamophobes and racists. Another one who has been gro*med, prepared, and sent out to misrepresent Islam and malign its true and noble message.

This ignoramus has clearly never studied Islam, nor has he sat with the Muslim scholars to learn about Islam, its creed, values, laws, and ethics. His rhetoric is deliberately volatile and hostile. He is not a caller to the religion of Allāh, nor a caller to the Path and Methodology of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) and his Companions.

The Prophet (ﷺ) described his ilk in his saying:

“There will arise at the end of the time a people who will be young in age and foolish in thought. They will speak as if their words are the best among people. They will recite the Qur’ān, but it will not go beyond their throats, and they will pass through the religion just as an arrow goes through its prey…” (Muslim, no. 1066)

So this man is a trial for the people and for the Muslims in particular. He conducts an interview in Britain whilst wearing military fatigues and a red scarf that is supposed to identify him as a Muslim from the Middle East. He then proceeds to speak about Islam, the Islamic faith and Islamic law as though he is a religious authority, a jurist or a scholar of the Prophetic tradition, yet he is among the most ignorant and foul-mouthed of people.

Any Muslim who has studied the Qur’ān and Sunnah (the Prophetic Tradition) upon the understanding of the righteous predecessors knows that he is a charlatan, a pretender, and an agitator seeking to cause hatred and commotion.

He is a barrier to the true message of Islam, which begins with the call to pure monotheism (Tawḥīd): the sole worship of the Lord and Creator of the universe—and He is Allāh, the one true God worshipped by Ādam, Nūḥ, Ibrāhīm, Mūsā, ʿĪsā and Muḥammad (the praise of Allāh and His peace be upon them all)—and to abandon all forms of polytheism and superstitious practices, and to follow the teachings of the Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) faithfully, including his noble manners.

This ignoramus brings to mind the saying of the Prophet (ﷺ):

“There will come upon the people years of treachery, wherein the liar will be believed, and the truthful will be called a liar; the treacherous will be regarded as trustworthy, and the trustworthy will be regarded as treacherous—and the Ruwaibidah will speak.” It was said: “Who are the Ruwaibidah?” He replied: “An insignificant and lowly person who speaks concerning the affairs of the general people.” (Ibn Mājah, no. 4036, graded ṣaḥīḥ by al-Albānī.)

In another narration, the Prophet (ﷺ) replied: “The fool who speaks concerning the affairs of the general people.” (Musnad Aḥmad, no. 7912.)

Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah (died 728 AH) said concerning the Khawārij:

“They are more harmful to the Muslims than highway robbers because highway robbers only want wealth; if it were given to them, they would not fight. Furthermore, they attack only some of the people [not all of them]. As for these [Khawārij], they fought the people on account of religion, seeking to make them abandon that which was established by the Qur’ān, the Sunnah and the consensus of the Companions, in favour of what they had innovated through their false interpretation and corrupt understanding of the Qur’ān.

They are more harmful to the Muslims than others; for there was none who was more harmful to the Muslims than them—not the Jews nor the Christians. They exerted themselves in killing every Muslim who did not agree with them, deeming the blood and wealth of the Muslims lawful, killing their children, and declaring them to be unbelievers. They regarded these actions as part of their religion, due to the enormity of their ignorance and their misguided innovation.” (Minhāj al-Sunnah, 5/243–248)

So, Muslims and non-Muslims should never be deceived by the likes of these convenient fools, who are sent forth to ignite fitnah and discord within societies and communities.

Hadith no. 11 of 40 Hadith in Clarification of the Way of the Salaf, and that is the Madhhab of Ahlul-Hadith.

Hudhayfah Ibn al-Yamān (radiyallāhu 'anhu) said: “People used to ask the Messenger of Allah (salallāhu ʿalaihi wasallam) about the good, but I used to ask him about evil, fearing it would overtake me.

So, I asked: ‘O Messenger of Allāh, we were living in times of ignorance and evil, and then Allāh brought to us this good; so is there any evil after this good?’

He said: ‘Yes.’

I asked: ‘And will there be a good after that evil?’

He said: ‘Yes, but it will be tainted.’

I asked: ‘What will be its taint?’...

Shaykh Ibn Baz: Sickness Does Not Mean Allah Is Displeased With You

Shaykh Ibn Baz (rahimahullah) said:

“Some people think that whoever is afflicted with illness or other hardships must be someone whom Allah is angry with. But this is not the case. A person may be tested with illness and calamities while being among those most honoured and beloved to Allah, such as the Prophets, Messengers, and other righteous people. As the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said in the hadith: ‘The people who are tested most severely are the Prophets, then the righteous, then those who are most like them, then those who are most like them.’”

The Excellence of Islam:

“What has been Narrated Concerning the Strangeness of Islam and the Virtues of the Strangers”

By Imām Ibn Abdul-Wahhāb (Part 12).
Free 14-page E-book.

Summary:

This chapter explains how Islām began as something strange among the people, and that it will return to being strange before the Hour.

However, this strangeness is not a sign of weakness or failure; rather, it is a mark of those who remain firm upon the Qurʾān, the authentic Sunnah, and the understanding of the Salaf when others have turned away.

These are the Ghurabāʾ (the Strangers) whom the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) gave glad tidings of Paradise. They rectify themselves when the people become corrupt, they revive the Sunnah when it is abandoned, they enjoin the good and forbid the evil with knowledge, wisdom and patience, and they do not compromise the Religion to gain acceptance.

The chapter gathers the Qurʾānic proofs, authentic narrations, and the explanations of the scholars—such as Ibn Bāz, Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim—to demonstrate that the true measure of success is not the number of followers one has, but steadfastness upon the truth.

Thus, the strangeness foretold by the Prophet (ﷺ) is not due to a scarcity of Muslims, but due to the scarcity of those who truly adhere to the Sunnah and the methodology of the Companions in belief, worship and conduct.
