Kristen Stewart says she wants to direct another movie by the end of the year "and put it on f*cking YouTube."
"Whatever money we make from that will be what I spend on my next one and there will be a trickle-down effect. I just don’t want to talk to these bros anymore ... I love Hollywood, I love big movies, [but] I don’t think I’d be very good at making them. I want to make weird shit. And I’m fully OK doing that in a kind of insulated, bizarre way. But I don’t want to do the thing where I wait five years for someone to give me $1 million to make something. I’m going to make it f*cking tomorrow."

Tip #2 - you’re only as good as your best alternative. Ppl don’t become great by working 10k hours and boom they’re suddenly a genius. Greats are always ruthless in their process and never precious until they can totally stand by their best, well constructed ideas
Filmmaking Tip #1 - its all about emotions
plot, character, aesthetic, etc is all in service of providing an emotional xperience 2 an audience
think of scenes in terms of emotions. Pacing is just about how long each mood lasts in comp 2 whole xperience
Sure, you might totally change directions later. But all your prep work before will be a) proof you know your art backwards/forwards and b) no work is worthless
If ur a writer/director, one of the best ways to ensure you’ll get great+enthusiastic collaborators is if you think all of your shit through beforehand. Bring everything you’ve got - don’t wait for others to do your thinking for you
