Every marketplace on #Bitcoin got #Ordinals trading wrong!
Why? Nobody took the mempool and block times seriously, and thus nobody created what's long been overdue: a mempool marketplace. We have now taken that first leap and we're live on @Magisat_io (https://t.co/aRQYdjPB6y). <TL;DR at the end>
What is a mempool marketplace?
A mempool marketplace tracks every buy of an ordinal and makes it available for trading up until the time it's spent in a confirmed transaction.
Why would we need that?
Aside from the opportunity of finding much cheaper listings that are already pending in transactions initiated by other basic marketplaces, it also offers the RBF tooling to everyone... publicly! You can now fight back and reclaim your buy transaction if someone tries to snipe it from you.
What's RBF and what is sniping?
An in-depth answer to how PSBT buys work on Bitcoin marketplaces is found here: https://t.co/YzmnpDQRVi
Why can't we go on without a mempool marketplace?
- Bitcoin blocks take 10min on average. Compared to an eth block, that time is too large and creates too many opportunities for "snipers/bots/dev cabals" to simply be ignored. A mempool marketplace empowers the users to secure their buy, fight back, or even snipe some great opportunities themselves. It's only fair if everyone has the same tools at hand. This is what we aim for.
- Without a mempool marketplace, the only other option is custody and centralization. In the spirit of Bitcoin and Satoshi, we believe avoiding a big centralized marketplace for Ordinals trading is paramount.
How to use it?
The best part is that there are almost no extra steps. A Basic user can use Magisat's Mempool Marketplace just as they use any other Ordinals Market. Hit buy, sign the buy, and replace the other buy transaction. There are a few more options for fees, but other than that it should be just as easy as before.
TL;DR
- We're offering the tools to buy already pending transactions
- We're offering the tools to fight back against RBF snipers that hijack your buys
- We're keeping the experience very similar to what you're already used to
- We're the first complete Bitcoin Ordinals Marketplace!

Intro
In this post, we'll cover how AOG 🟠 is structured. We'll also break down what elements a complete #Ordinals collection should have. It's a longer post, but read it and I think your chances of picking the next winning collection will improve.
Before we dive into it, let's explore some details about the upcoming Apostles of Greed:
- 888/2664 Orange eyes apostles are inscribed on the oldest block 9
- we dry-ran transactions until 888 inscriptions all got ids starting with "88888"
- all apostles have 888sats padding
- The 1/1 have "88888...8888iX" ids, 888bytes, and their creation tx used 88888sats
- all parented by the tome inscribed on "adarkfuture" sat ( https://t.co/yRBWdEbohS )
+ the good ol' audio responses
The elements a good collection should have:
1. Provenance
The parent-child method is not very easy to implement. However, it is, in my opinion, required for the unitarity of the collection on-chain. In 50-100 years from now, the off-chain metadata that holds the collection together might be lost, but if you use parent-chid, the provenance will be forever stored on-chain.
2. Rare sats ( a worthy canvas )
With #Ordinals, the creators have two more dimensions to work with: low inscription numbers and rare sats. Both have the potential to solidify a collection and establish it as a "first-of-its-kind". @BitcoinShrooms, @nodemonkes : both leveraging low inscription #. @OrdinalMaxiBiz, the first full collection on block 9 sats. Think about it, it's not a coincidence that these collections do well. There is still space to pioneer new and interesting rare sats, just look at @inkonbtc popularizing Legacy Sats.
3. Art
Art is obviously the foundation of any collection. Find an amazing artist and never let him go. I know I will always be honored to work with the Apostles of Greed's artist.
4. Extra features: try to be the first to create something
Ordinals and #Bitcoin are a complex framework. You can always add some value to the ecosystem and lead by example. Maybe don't settle just for PFPs. Add some spice to that. We tried to bring the PFP to life, by being the first PFP collection to add audio responses when you click your inscription. We also dry-ran the inscribing transaction until their ids encapsulated the main Lore component: the infinite 8 ( example inscription id: 88888...8888i0)
5. Engaging story and universe for the community
Your holders need to feel that they are part of something great, not just speculating on some Ordinals. For that, I planned to inscribe the first on-chain story that will turn AOG holders into story-tellers with a "Bandersnatch" type of approach. What better feeling than to mold the lore of the collection, which will outlive us all.

Description of AOG:
Apostles of Greed is a dope collection of 104 unique characters with audio responses. The collection was founded by Quary, minted at 0.02BTC and now sitting at a beautiful floor price: https://t.co/g8pgyiOYjI
AOG is not just a collection. It is the first of its genre (an onchain story: https://t.co/35yqCHiYSX sitting on a variety of outstanding rare sats).
The structure of the original collection is presented here: https://t.co/9SktndAhJ6 and it will be mimicked by the upcoming mint that extends the collection.

Using parent-child inscription and recursive inscription, @Commoners_ have achieved an effect similar blind box opening on Bitcoin without smart contracts.

Runestone Eligibility Algorithm Update:
Volunteer contributors in the Discord determined that there are ~110,000 addresses that held 3 or more non-TXT/JSON inscriptions at block height 826,600 (6 days ago on the 1-year anniversary of Ordinals).
Using parent-child, batch inscribing, and delegation a Runestone could be inscribed and airdropped to all ~110,000 addresses for ~2.3 BTC at 30 sat/vB. At current BTC/USD prices that would be $96,724 total with a cost of $0.88 per recipient.
This would be the largest Ordinals airdrop ever and the vast majority of year one Ordinals collectors would receive it regardless of whether they were a whale or a minnow. Given each Runestone would likely have value far exceeding the 88 cents in fees it would take to execute it, it would be irrational for the year one Ordinals community not to reward themselves with it.
No eligibility algorithm will be perfect but this one is simple where anyone can intuitively understand it and feel that it was mostly fair especially given it is unbiased towards any specific collections and has no team allocation.
Go share your feedback on this proposal in the MISSION 5 thread in the Runestone Discord:
If you are technical we need multiple people to independently verify an exact list of the addresses that meet this criterion using a snapshot at block height 826,600. Every independent verifier should publish their list publicly so that the generated lists can be compared for accuracy and so that people can check if their address is on the list which will allow for another level of feedback.
Special thanks to @hbeckeri, @SanjFomojis, @Vannix_4, and @revofusion for helping to run these rough calculations as well as to everyone who has been actively contributing in respectful discourse in the Discord!
This Black Rare, is the Parent to the Black Doges Black Uncommon Collection by @UncommonDoges
Historical provenance, on an uncommon sat. So undervalued. 🤦🏾🤦🏾 Glad I have a cpl 😁😎🥳

There are only 2 Black Rare Inscriptions in the world now!
The First is our Black Rare Doge, and the second is the following inscription:

i will keep saying this until I don't have to. One of the most undervalued project is @UncommonDoges. They had uncommon , black uncommon, block 9 and 78 collections. And most were airdropped.
A black rare sat sold for 165k$ at @Sothebys.
It was a Black rare from Feb 2009. A treasure, indeed!
In other news, a newer black rare sat (2017) has just been listed on @Magisat_io for 1.5 BTC. 👇
