I wish the JLP comms team would perfect the art of getting before the news.
The media does not like YOU. Are u guys slow?
Preempt, preempt, preempt.
And be willing to hang those who act counter to ur mission to dry.
No party wants to be in opposition, so stop trying to beat the PNP to the opposition benches. Damn!
@ChildNorbrook@NationwideRadio How does having a maximum of 25 TCNs transitting through Ja, at any given time, equates to a signing away of sovereignty? Or even any rights of Jcans?
@DalveyG Unlike the TCN arrangements, Ja would have to cover the cost of keeping the Haitians here indefinitely. Plus there'd be no pause on the arrival of Haitians when a maximum of 25 remain in Ja as is the case under the TCN arrangements
@play87677945@OneDon531490@NationwideRadio As they should also. But we'd love to see the visas for politicians and officials revoked so we can call them smugglers and thieves
@Jer23ome1@NationwideRadio You can't realistically expect Ja to mimic the Canadian approach when dealing with the US. Govt can't play David and Goliath with our lives
@chrisorichardz@hatebaxx@NationwideRadio Nonsense! If the Govt were to allow visas to be cancelled you'd be on here lambasting govt. And if govt members visas were cancelled, you'd likely be on here alleging corruption, smuggling or saying US must have good reasons.
@ChildNorbrook@NationwideRadio Even so, signing MOU to prevent visa revocation of members of the executive makes sense. Once US revokes visas ppl say it's because of corruption, smuggling etc. Can't realistically expect govt to open itself to a course that would see executives banned by US n scandalized here.
Nationwide News understands that the threat of random Jamaican citizens having their non-immigrant visas revoked by US authorities gave impetus to the decision by the Holness administration to agree to action a plan with its counterpart in Washington to accommodate so-called Third Country Nationals seeking to transit to another country via Kingston.
This threat of wide-scale visa revocations was mooted by at least two US government officials.

@gavinmyaz Nonsense!! There's not even a hint of suggestion in the report that the wealth came about by virtue of his post or office. For you to ignore his several business ventures and try to link it to his office lacks the integrity you're seeking in others.
@RRionromier@JamaicaGleaner Known for years now that Ja has a shortage of skilled workers and govt been trying to overcome the problem, including making HEART free but the youths are not going. That Jcans love to migrate doesn't mean others will not come to work in Ja
@kheryberry But it has been known that the US was seeking Caribbean countries to enter into such arrangements for months. Would be very odd for the US to seek arrangements with Antigua and tiny St. Kitts n Nevis but not Ja
@mcewan_janiel That it was said in a diplomatic note doesn't necessarily makes it factual. Also, quite understandable that a diplomat such as AM would not be drawn by the Gleaner into a squabble with the US embassy as to who said what first.
@servingc0ck@EBalldrove@jamaicastar From reading the article, it's clear she's no longer a ward of the State. Besides, can a 24 year old be a ward of the State
@PocoPoco1023@tweetiegabby Hiding one's assets in a Trust and filing in respect of the balance should not be allowed regardless of any IC certification
Cabinet Minister Dr Andrew Wheatley is rejecting as โpatently false, inaccurate and grossly misleadingโ a claim by the Integrity Commission (IC) that there was a $164 million disproportionality in his assets versus his lawful earnings over a nine year period.

@JAProsperity@integrityja From the Govt won the elections last year, it should have set about reforming the IC to remove their political agenda instead of pussyfooting with reforms in a joint committee
