@soitgoesrhodes Not to mention that he had no problem with dissing Cody behind his back in the weeks before this, but wanted to act appalled when Cody came back at him with that same energy.
Every Cody Rhodes feud feels like it follows the same formula since WrestleMania 40:
- The heel feels robbed.
- The heel claims WWE is rigging the system to protect the golden boy, Cody Rhodes.
- The heel finds a way to manipulate the system and convince Nick Aldis to grant multiple rematches.
- The heel enjoys some temporary success but ultimately fails to defeat Cody in the end.
That's essentially what Cody Rhodes fatigue feels like: the same storyline over and over again, just with a different villain.
And honestly, I don't even blame Cody for this. The problem isn't Cody Rhodes. The problem is that the creative has become weak, lazy, formulaic, and repetitive. It has been the worst part of Cody's entire main roster run so far.
Sami going out of his way to find Cody and get in his face every week and inserting himself into Cody’s feud with Gunther only to then be completely outraged when Nick tells him to stay out of their business is frying me.
He’s so hellbent on proving himself he has zero awareness thought of how he goes about it 😭

quite frankly: i’m starting to get very tired of how WWE likes to treat cody so shitty, very single time a title feud starts to come to life that everybody has been begging for & wanting to see happen for so long.
- with cena, them not following through that well with his heel turn, the build not being as amazing as it could’ve been, having travis scott be in the main event of WM, having cody lose his first world title because of interference from him… and then just so much more BS following that.
- with drew, setting them tf up from the very start by only giving them the episode of smackdown before WP to promo with each other, the match itself having weird moments before ending in an odd fashion, then following that up with four. straight. months. of the two of them going back and forth in the most subpar matches with each other, drew constantly intervening in cody’s title matches with other people, have cody get the wins against drew in “controversial” ways, in order to “justify” him getting a rematch. then when cody lost the title to drew, they kept having him getting in cody’s business and costing him from earning a title shot (royal rumble, EC, getting involved in his qualifying matches), it was tiring.
- randy. the worst fucking offender. a match everybody had been counting down the minutes to, til we finally got it, and when we did, when we finally got the epic heel turn, too, that was bound to make their build and match that much more exciting, they fumbled the ball AGAIN. by adding a goddamn celebrity to one of cody’s mania feuds. pat mcafee never needed to have his nose stuck anywhere near a feud involving two competitors, who have such a storied history together. it led to some of the worst promos i have seen in a feud that was once meant to be cody vs randy, that suddenly got turned into cody vs pat.
- and then finally, we come to gunther. while the build for their match to clash wasn’t that bad, it wasn’t as it could’ve been, either, (especially since it’s becoming clear that they’re trying to follow the drew blueprint ) only letting the two of them actually promo like hell, the episode of smackdown before their match is set to take place, controversial, abrupt finish to their match, leading cody’s opponent to be mad at the referee and at cody, setting up a rematch, except this time they’re gonna let cody’s opponent choose a stipulation since “they technically got screwed”… i’m so damn tired, man.
what the hell does it take to give cody a normal story? what does it take for WWE to stop screwing him, and other world champions, hell, other wrestlers in general, out of having consistent, coherent writing?? i just want them to give this man, one feud where they stop trying to give him the shit end of the stick. they prop him and the other champions up so high, but do they ever stop to actually think about giving them writing that makes sense for once?
anyways, rant over, i’m just #annoyed
Are we really at the point where people misconstrue everything Cody says to hate on him? Gunther wants what Cody currently has. The title, the status, the posters, etc. We know he wants it because we've seen his transformation since joining the main roster
“I know you want it all. Otherwise, I'd be talking to the 330 pound version of yourself in front of a couple hundred people at an indie show.”

Sami Zayn was one of the hottest acts in WWE during The Bloodline story. He was incredibly entertaining, had people breaking character because of how funny he was, and connected with the audience on a huge level.
That momentum carried him all the way to the main event of WrestleMania Night 1 alongside KO. But after that, it felt like Sami's character stopped evolving, and over time things started to feel a little stale.
Now that he's finally adding new layers to his character again, he's become interesting all over again. Sami is so talented that whenever he's given the opportunity to evolve, he usually knocks it out of the park. That's exactly what he's been doing lately, and I'm genuinely intrigued by where this story with Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes is headed.
Gunther is a fantastic heel promo man. Something Cody doesn’t get enough credit for is allowing his heels to dominate the promo exchanges. He did it with AJ, did it with KO, and is doing it with Gunther. Making his opponent appears as a massive obstacle to overcome.
Amazing.
What is this revisionist bullshit. Why does everybody act like everything has been handed to Cody? It’s the same narrative. he scratched and clawed his way to holding this championship. Quite literally just watch anything he did prior to his return my god 😭 google is free #SmackDown
So many people on this post have never been to a live event and it shows. LA Knight is just doing stuff they wouldn't be able to do on TV and they are just having fun. It's a funny clip and people turning this shit into a debate. Like cmon laugh a little 😂
@Elliesmommyy23@spiderblossoms@mrwtffacts Because depression has a myriad of triggers that can affect children as well. It doesn't care about age. Bullying, abuse, trauma, and even just straight up imbalanced brain chemistry can cause depression. It isn't just things like bills.
@robertdaytime47@Jwrasslintakes That one was especially good because you could understand both sides. Cody just wanted Solo off his back and was essentially forced into teaming with Roman. Kevin was justifiably angry at Cody for teaming with the guy who made his life a living nightmare for years prior.
The way we killed NFTs by not using them or buying into the hype, I feel like we could've done the same with AI. But people are lazy. They don't want to learn new skills. And now AI is more common than it ever should've been and killing the planet at a fast rate.
It may take some time, but I would love for us to get Kairi trending again. Whatever your reason is, I know you wanna see her trend again. We did it for 16 days in a row, I know we still have some fight left in us!
