The RSF has shown again and again that it is willing to target civilians—including infants and young children. Its brutality has deepened the conflict and destabilized the region, creating the conditions for terrorist groups to grow.

The civil war in Sudan has destabilized the region and created conditions that enable terrorist groups to grow.

Today, Treasury imposed sanctions on a network that is fueling the conflict by recruiting former Colombian military personnel to train soldiers—including children—to fight for the Rapid Support Forces, a Sudanese paramilitary group. The Rapid Support Forces have repeatedly targeted civilians, systematically killing men, boys, and infants, and have deliberately raped and assaulted women and girls.

.@POTUS and @SecScottBessent have been clear: terrorist cartels will no longer operate with impunity across our borders. The Tren de Aragua network’s narcotrafficking and human smuggling operations pose a grave threat to our national security and to our communities. Today, as part of the Trump administration’s @POTUS crack down on international drug trafficking organizations, Treasury has sanctioned key affiliates of the terrorist cartel Tren de Aragua. The network sanctioned today includes entertainer “Rosita”—a DJ, actress, and model with millions of social media followers—and others involved in holding drug-fueled parties to benefit Tren de Aragua. Treasury will not stop fighting to Make America Safe Again.

Across the globe, Iran exploits financial systems to launder funds, procure components for its nuclear and conventional weapons programs, and support its terrorist proxies.

At the direction of President Trump, we are putting maximum pressure on Iran to end its nuclear threat.  The United States also expects the international community to fully implement UN snapback sanctions on Iran to cut off its access to the global financial system.

Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is targeting 32 individuals and entities based in Iran, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Türkiye, China, Hong Kong, India, Germany, and Ukraine that operate multiple procurement networks supporting Iran’s ballistic missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) production.

Criminal networks operating out of Burma are stealing billions of dollars from hardworking Americans through online scams.

These same networks traffic human beings and help fuel Burma’s brutal civil war. The Administration will keep using every tool we have to go after these cybercriminals—wherever they operate—and to protect American families from their exploitation.

Today, the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army (DKBA), a Burmese armed group, along with four of its senior leaders, for supporting cyber scam centers in Burma that target Americans using fraudulent investment schemes. 

OFAC is also designating Trans Asia International Holding Group Thailand Company Limited (Trans Asia), Troth Star Company Limited (Troth Star), and Thai national Chamu Sawang, who are linked to Chinese organized crime and have worked with the DKBA and other armed groups to develop these scam centers.  The revenue generated by scam center workers—who are often themselves victims of human trafficking—supports organized crime and allows the DKBA to finance its harmful activities.

Our discussion was rich and constructive, reaffirming the shared commitment of Lebanon and the United States to peace, transparency, and sovereignty.

We addressed Lebanon’s reform roadmap — restructuring the banking sector, stabilizing the currency, formalizing the economy, and curbing the cash economy — all essential steps to restore trust, integrity, and state capacity.

We expressed deep appreciation to Dr. Gorka for his clear and principled leadership, and to Mr. Hurley for the U.S. Treasury’s steadfast work to safeguard financial systems from corruption, terrorism, and illicit finance.

We also acknowledged President Donald J. Trump’s historic vision and achievements, which redefined regional stability and advanced peace through strength and shared values.
