@Junneskiii@BrokenGamezHDR_ God of War has had a mobile game, two PSP games, a mainline prequel, a text-based Facebook game, and a side scroller. These games centered on Kratos of course, but a spinoff with a new character to control is perhaps the least surprising move for the franchise at this point.
@J0hnADouglas@HectorE88315654 The implication is that the shields *were not* up until the Empire arrived and exposed themselves so that they couldn’t launch a bombardment. The shield takes a ton of power, hence the big reactor, so they wouldn’t keep it up all the time.
@pad3p@robby_weidemann Behind the scenes, the running logic used to be that the events of ESB took place over about 6 months, which includes Luke’s time in the bacta tank. Current estimates are a bit tighter, but there’s never been a definite declaration.
@filmingwanderer Luke is exile is also a concept that pre-dates Abrams involvement and was part of the initial ideas Lucas and Michael Ardnt were playing with before handing it over. It's in line with the "Luke as King Arthur" archetype from the Original Trilogy.
@thePurplexed@MyKindaHell@Undue_Risk That was Whitaker reprising the role after Rogue One (the Rebels appearance premiered in 2017). Saw’s introduction was in Clone Wars with a different voice actor.
@MyKindaHell@Undue_Risk Bo-Katan is a little different, where Katee Sackoff voices the original animated character as well, with some intentionality in her initial casting that the character might eventually make it to live action.
@TheNCSmaster@Wario64 Control had fairly poor sales on release, but had a long tail through word of mouth. Took them a year and a GOTY nomination to clear 2 mil copies, then another 5 years to get that remaining 4 mil. That’s great of course, but in an ideal world you make your investment back quicker
@midlane_malware@pascalcoded With that helmet on and the vocal effects, the voice lines would've been done in ADR pretty much no matter what. You're not getting usable dialogue on set without needlessly jumping through hoops.
@SCentralized It’s almost important to remember that this was when Lucasfilm was being very protective against leaks, so the trailers weren’t fully representative of the final films and were using different shots. The Force Awakens was the same way.
@SCentralized Reshoots were only around 5 weeks. That’s not nearly enough time for the overhaul people make it seem. This wasn’t Solo’s 70% reshoot. It was mostly interstitial scenes to better flesh out the characters. The bigger element was Gilroy helping Edwards re-edit and clean up the film
@como_joden_@Th_Angelopoulos The Odyssey is an “epic poem”. Narrative poetry is typically metered. Preserving the meter helps maintain the original artistic intention.
@SCentralized Like even the “born of no father” calls back to the spiritual rebirth of the Campbell Mythic Hero, which gets entirely overshadowed by Anakin literally having no father.
@SCentralized It’s interesting from the angle of “when darkness rises, light rises to meet it”, meaning the Chosen One is simply the Mythic Hero that rises in times of darkness, which would be emblematic of the themes of the saga. But that gets lost by treating Anakin as the Most Special Man.
@HuntressSellia Those old playgrounds were mostly made with CCA-treated wood, which contains arsenic. This is fine for structures, beyond the tendency for it to leech into the ground, but the high action of a playground lead to the material getting chipped off and ingested. Most were torn down.
@kelsburn3r@BlightsMageVll@108r5meme The devs hire a consultant for a specified purpose, the consultant weighs the opinion on the matter and consults the dev, then the dev determines if changes need to be made as a result. The dev is under no obligation to follow through on changes suggested by the consultant.
@sweaustin0@SirSnipeyy The Bad Batch arc was nearly completed before original the cancellation. They even had preliminary animatics and the episodes were in a watchable state. They released them to the public. S7 made some minor changes, but they basically just finished the nearly completed arc.
@TodayinTor@SheevPalps66@Wollivan It’s from Tatooine Manhunt. The adventure reuses McQuarrie’s concept art of the ESB bounty hunters that West End Games pulled out of the Lucasfilm archives, it was not commissioned specifically for the game. The analogs in Tatooine Manhunt aren’t even all together at any point.
