@WhalePanda Not nearly enough. We need to increase those numbers, and a great way to do so would be by making space for them by forcing out the African and Islamic filth that infests Europe today
While one hundred and ten people were having a tantrum on Twitter about silly monkey NFT spam that's already burning itself out organically, Bitcoin Core sped up sync time by a third doing hard work that actually helps node runners.
We have introduced the Bitcoin Banking Adoption Index.
Major-bank Bitcoin adoption is accelerating, but still early: 32% overall as measured by the index. $BTC
There are 110 things more dangerous to Bitcoin than spam.
BIP 110 turns a spam dispute into a consensus change that would invalidate some currently valid, fee-paying transactions.
That precedent is the danger. We should save our energy for threats that really matter. $BTC
Preaching that God has assigned black people to "a civilizational station of subordination and dependence" due to the Curse of Ham, Christian nationalist pastor Dale Partridge calls for a "return to European Christian colonization of African nations." https://t.co/fmXimncly7

After a decade of blockspace fears and non-monetary-use panics, Bitcoin still has no spam problem. Fees are 1 sat/vB: anyone can move any amount globally with immediate processing for ~$0.30. The free market has always solved Bitcoin’s blockspace challenges. $BTC
bip-110 was never really about JPEGs
JPEGs were just the easiest boogeyman you could sell to the scared and the simple
it was about whether Bitcoin should hardcode a new line between “acceptable” and “unacceptable” data at the consensus level
that is the real issue
Bitcoin has always been brutally simple: follow the rules, pay the fee, get included
bip-110 proposed changing Bitcoin's consensus rules to distinguish between data it considers acceptable and data it considers spam
and so far, miners have not bought it
recent signaling has been sitting around half a percent, nowhere near the 55% threshold needed for miner lock-in
outside of OCEAN, there has been little miner support
NO broad consensus
just a loud attempt to redefine what Bitcoin is allowed to be used for
but the dangerous part was never whether this version succeeded
the dangerous part was that people were willing to try
because once you normalize the idea that a faction can lobby to ban a disliked use case at consensus, the target will not always be inscriptions
today it is JPEGs
tomorrow it could be another use case that falls out of favor
that's the problem with drawing the line at the consensus layer instead of letting fees and existing rules decide
every generation of Bitcoin users thinks their moral panic is special
it is not
Bitcoin does not survive because everyone agrees on what belongs on-chain
it survives because nobody gets to be the final authority on that
