@Ro__Junior@autocorrect2_0@TheUnWohk@valorthodoxia Correct. Protestants hold that Scripture is authoritative.
Disagreements in interpretation is a feature of the system, not a bug.
We are free to persuade and change our minds based on that authority. You are sold to a magisterium. You are told what to believe
@ProvisionistP Interestingly in Lev 19:23-25 it reiterates that anything grown in that land for three years has to be seen as unclean.
Again, I've not thoroughly looked into this and studied all angles, etc...but it is interesting to note how God seemingly sees sin affecting the earth.
@ProvisionistP There's an interesting couple of verses in Lev 18 - verses 25 and 27 specifically (although the whole chapter is best read for context) that says the earth itself was defiled by sin.
NOT A DOCTRINE, but I wonder if even a lot of "natural disasters" aren't a result of our own sin
@sheriece@AThinksAloud The gender example is appropriate. Both groups are claiming to be something they are not.
When someone says, "Jesus is the son of God" - both Mormons and Christians will say they agree, but both groups don't MEAN the same thing.
Therefore they aren't the same. Divinity matters.
@MaeOfFable I've not heard about professors trying to find evidence. Although it makes sense that people might try and find something. It's pretty damning imo.
There should be SOMETHING.
@michaeljknowles They believe Jesus and Satan were "spiritual brothers."
It's fine if you'd like to single out Trinitarian Theology as the stumbling stone here, but there are numerous issues.
@theRTMullins This would be great. Although I worry I'd be lost in the details of it.
It seems to me how God interacts with time is incredibly difficult to understand. It'd be helpful if there were resources available to quickly show someone if they had questions or objections.
@JoelWBerry This is correct. The perception of winning is more important. It's what people will remember. It's what drives his clicks and engagement, what causes him to be invited to various podcasts etc.
This is why he will arguing in bad faith. The argument itself isn't as important.
@DPGBehler The OP's line of reasoning would also work for salvation if we assume one can lose their salvation or forfeit it.
Once you get saved we baptize you and send you to the Father just in case you decide to someday "deconstruct."
God uses people. That means they need to be alive.
@nosoup4knowles I realize this is a cynical take, but it looks like to me they want to monetize their abortion.
Private abortions are bad enough, but to be proud of them, or to publicize them to gain fame or money is another level of disgusting behavior that is breathtakingly evil.

Just because lots of babies are killed every year doesn't mean we can't talk about, discourage or be upset about one very high profile situation.
Sit down.
@MaeOfFable I dislike her entire argument surrounding the "less than 1%" trope.
Most of the people supporting these communities are told that "silence is violence" and they fall over themselves to apologize for being white or American.
The 1% are the tail that is wagging the very large dog
