QUINTESSENTIAL TECHNOCRAT
Beyond Politics — Who is Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat?
Engineer. Builder. Servant. Lagosian.
A story of competence, loyalty, and quiet impact.
The next chapter begins.
Inflation is insane. Traders who buy inventory to sell will need more capital than before. Even if they can find the capital, they can't make the same returns. That's how businesses die.
What's sad is the majority of nigerian businesses in the informal sector are like this.
I was inspired by this issue to name my blog.
gaps that policymakers fail to bridge. then the sudden stops and shocks that result.
monetary policy is one of the most fundamental in that regard, because it dictates the terms through which we do business with the world.
One thing I won’t agree with you people is that Nigerians are special people and can’t be reformed no matter what the effort is. Other civilizations have gone through this phase as well. It’s not special.
Ideally, asset-light businesses are often preferred by most corporate managers because of the numerous advantages it has. Some of them include
i. Flexibility and ease of scalability
ii. Low fixed costs (which are helpful, particularly during economic downturns)
iii. Operational efficiency: folks can focus on areas where they are strongest
iii. Reduced risk and lower capital requirements
You'd notice that most profitable companies in the world are asset-light. The likes of Microsoft, Adobe, Google, and Coca-Cola etc. all share similar characteristics.
They went to my place at dusk of 3 am but I had anticipated it. I am little shaken by it but I am not afraid. Tomorrow, I will still protest. And if we die at it, we did our dues. I am a mere cog in the wheels of justice. This is bigger than individuals.

“Good morning, @CustomsNG.
In case you did not know, the smuggling of three 2024 Toyota land cruisers and four white coaster buses into the country two nights ago by IBD Dende was executed with the express say-so of Hussein Ejigbunu, Comptroller, Federal Operations Unit Zone A — the same Ejigbunu IBD Dende repeatedly boasted to have contacted in the videos of him (reproduced below) threatening to harm and charging towards a Customs officer, released by @fijnigeria on March 1.
Nigerians like to know: since many of your most senior officers are enmeshed in aiding and abetting smuggling, should we just forget any hopes of achieving national prosperity and security through border control by the NCS?
Can you give Nigerians just one reason why your agency, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), should not be rechristened the Nigeria Customs Smuggling (NCS)?”
Here's a 5-minute exercise for you this morning:
1. RT this
2. Text this message to 3 people: "You should check this out right now and back this quickly. Definitely worth it: https://t.co/NzFiT8apGU"
3. Like this tweet – only when you've shared it abeg. I'm testing something.

“Good morning, @CustomsNG.
I know you are aware already; I am aware too, and Nigerians will also become aware, by virtue of this tweet: IBD Dende smuggled seven vehicles into the country overnight, just a few hours ago while the rest of us were asleep.
The vehicles came in via Oja-Odan and are currently in Lagos.
Specifically, the smuggled vehicles are three 2024 Toyota landcruisers and four white coaster buses. The coaster buses contain some cartons, the contents of which I don’t know.
So, Nigerians, including me would like to know: what are the contents of the cartons in the white coaster buses brought in by IBD Dende in the early hours of Thursday April 4?
In the unlikely event that you manage to intercept the vehicles, are you simply going to announce their recovery while hoarding the details, or will you for the first time name the rich and powerful patrons behind the illegality?”
On every corner in Zaria, people are roaming about, looking for water.
Women and children with buckets and gallons, searching for where to get water for their basic needs.
Water is the new oil here, 25L gallon is N150 and if your house is far, the sellers won’t come—
11 months ago, I directed my first feature, Lami. It is a Gbagyi film. It is a project that I'm proud of cos my people don't not have an active film industry, but my team and I started a good conversation with the little in our hands.
