Dad to Cat & Jackson, husband to Elizabeth, and @uarizona Wildcat. Always innovating, never duplicating. And if you don’t know, now you know . IG: @uofadon
@ErikRuby This is the best take I’ve seen so far. Alternatively, leave him on the team and make him medically inactive for the year.
The crazy part is what Tech and its head coach are doing to the rest of the team with bending over backwards for Sorsby to play.
@kirbyhocutt You’re correct, two things don’t have to be in conflict.
1) Brendan Sorsby can and should get any treatment help he needs on his journey for recovery.
2) Texas Tech can commit today to proactively making Sorsby ineligible to protect the integrity of its program.
@WorldWideWob I love this. Part of what made throwback jersey so cool was revisiting both the player and the team history.
I wonder how many fans in their teens/20s are going to be nostalgic for the 3rd alternate jumpman edition from 2026? It’s a bummer.
@jasonscheer It’s going to be interesting to see the tipping point between NIL $ and playing time.
Some guys will stay for the payday, some will want a faster path to PT and that NBA $.
@KevinOConnor What’s good about this? You’re still going to get terrible games from October-February and then either a scramble to tank more or win just enough to not be in the bottom 4. It’s like a plan written to sponsor mediocrity.
@ShamsCharania This is the definition of insanity. Of course GMs support the idea because it creates a new set of rules to tank under. The simplest fix would have been to inversely assign picks from the worst record up and do away with the useless play-in games.
@AZDesertSwarm Airport would be a problem for travel logistics. Not enough direct flights and not enough terminals to handle added volume.
SLC isn’t great but it is a major airline hub.
@jasonscheer Would love to know what this will do to team budgets from NIL/rev share through housing, scholarships, etc.
For 🏀, it’s early enough that you can adjust and incorporate. For 🏈 and non-revenue sports it might be a nightmare.
@jasonscheer Arizona’s PR department telling everyone that there’s nothing to see is only gonna make people look harder.
This feels a lot like the dreaded “vote of confidence” before an inevitable firing
@notthefakeSVP@SethDavisHoops There’s no player’s association or owner’s group to collectively bargain so it’s a wide open labor market of independent contractors that can demand what they want and the market will pay or not pay those demands.
I don’t like it but labor should be free to seek the best deals
@KicksFinder Or, maybe we don’t need another signature shoe from Nike until they discontinue 2-3 other signature lines and focus on making really great shoes with unique designs and tech again.
@TheNBABase@WindhorstESPN@hoopstonite Or, maybe, not every player needs their own signature shoe. Producing a line for Bron, KD, Book, Giannis plus their take-down models plus protros , plus Jordan’s EVERY YEAR taxes the design teams and depresses the buyer market.
It’s supply > demand.
@crichouesly@RockChalkBlog Because I wasn’t concerned about being precise. The same sentiment applies to the top 3 of the Big East and, I guess, the new P-12. The point is it’s the big timers and the feeder schools now.
