I've used all my free chats with my favorite AI(s), and now just have to read dumb political posts. And rant. 📷
Here's the deal: Most every political issue has two sides. And most arguments are nuanced, take study and contemplation to grasp. Not everyone who has the opposite opinion of you is dumb. *YOU* look dumb insulting your friends and spewing illogical platitudes, straw man arguments, and obviously biased talking points.
I say some stupid sh*t on Facebook, but I'm not mean. And I'm not going to say something to you online that I wouldn't say to your face.
For God's sake, turn down the venom. I don't think it's a stretch to say that mathematically people in our country have more in common than not. Except politics. People pull for their team regardless of what they've done. I remember before Charles Barkley became a Rocket, he spit on some kid(?) in the stands. Houston was livid. *BUT* when he became a Rocket everything got instantly cool. The politics equivalent is: "every idea your team has is stupid or intentionally evil".
Sh*t's not binary in the real world. And regardless of what you think, you will change no opinion. Not a single one. All you're going is creating an echo chamber of your like-minded friends where you don't learn or evolve. See my previous post about the Cracker Barrel updates (lol).
In conclusion, I ranted like the old man I promised myself I wouldn't become. And maybe I should pay for the + version of my AI. But just be nice. Being angry all the time isn't good for your soul, and I think anyone who thinks about that knows it's true.

I finished a book that instantly became one of my favorites. Playground by Richard Powers. After finishing, I spent an hour reading discussions about it on Reddit. I found out dude won a Pulitzer for another novel. Which I instantly put on hold at the library.
