@RottenInDenmark The US UMC *are* distinct from the rich, and I'm sort of baffled the OP doesn't see this. It's literally labor (albeit well-paid labor) vs. capital. My understanding is that Marx himself wrote that doctors, lawyers, et al would always be well paid relative to most workers.
@rachelgoodstein @HutchinsMatt @Alt_NASA I think Reagan was more of a departure from previous governance but the closeness of Bush v Gore (and the difference had Gore won) creates so much more leverage in the outcome for our country/world.
@tlifenuggets@PoulChapman @jessynfarrell Agreed, this seems a lot more like an attack *from the progressive left* against the status quo vs the Seattle is Dying coming *from the right.* And to your point, the words just mean totally different things...
@UrbanistOrg This is *inside* urban centers, right? I'd always understood speed limits on highways to be relatively pointless, and tools for inconsistent, problematic enforcement.
@IsaacMooers @ConorKenny @HutchinsMatt @CMTMosqueda@CMLGonzalez @AGH4SEA Presumably it would be anything above that. Every unit means slightly lower rent. Unless you're asking for an actual unit-to-dollars ratio. (Then I got nothing LOL.)
@AstroPhoenix9 @PapaMarty_ @ProFootballTalk Weird how the actual people you're claiming were endangered disagree with that. His wife and family were worried about HIM not themselves.
@RikAdamski @holz_bau Industrial zoning ("factory") is--and I say this will full respect as you seem to be arguing in good faith--a complete strawman. Not one of the countless citywide arguments about zoning in America right now is about whether to put a glue factory in a single family neighborhood.
@HutchinsMatt @SeaTimesOpinion This kind of nihilism -- "don't vote for any of them" -- is exactly the kind of political problem the media *prevents* in functioning democracies.
You know what would be really cool? Being the FIRST BILLIONAIRE to travel from Vancouver BC to Los Angeles by high speed rail! Betcha all the other billionaires would shit bricks with envy at how cool you are for breaking the world high speed rail record!
