Not sure what laws are like in Texas however - once I explained this business & professions code to the pharmacist- sure made things much smoother.

California law (Business & Professions Code §733) states that a pharmacist shall not obstruct a patient from obtaining a legally prescribed medication. Violations can constitute unprofessional conduct.
