Uncontrolled unblinded long term studies with low persistence rates feel similar to me to the way stage hypnotists select out suggestible audience members. The fewer patients that persist, the more the placebo response grows.
Watch The IMPACT on @TimesNow at 11:30 am with guest Dr. Aparna Hegde, founder of ARMMAN. @hegde_aparna talks about the impact NGOs like ARMMAN have on health services in urban Indian slums.

The vilification of Rhea has been the most shameful chapter in Indian journalism in recent times. Every single journalistic code was broken, every chauvinistic and patriarchal bias was allowed to run as ‘news’. It pains me as a journalist. But it sears me as a woman. (8/8)
The biggest lot of cliched patriarchal nonsense is how behind every successful man is a woman. That is just used as a ruse to blame a man’s failure on a woman. Basically a woman is needed to justify an unsuccessful man. Wives, girlfriends, mothers. Even daughters. (7/n)
You see, Rhea didn’t look the part of a helpless woman. Everyone likes a helpless woman. An अबला नारी. Strong women make men and also many women uncomfortable because they go against patriarchal notions of a woman constantly having to be saved. (2/n)
Agree! @RaneeThakar is humble and kind and remembers others and her roots and thinks about the overall 🌍 carbon footprint of the society! She has opened doors for many. Also congrats to Dr Vervest #IUGA2020 @IUGA office @IUJ_BlueJournal#lifetime achievement award too 👏🏽👏🏽🎉
We're so close! ARMMAN is one of the 79 organisations shortlisted for the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship and the winners will be announced tomorrow. Join us in cheering for all the exceptional nominees and tune in at 8:30pm IST tomorrow https://t.co/iAk04ZWE5a
@hegde_aparna .. Totally agree with our founder!
As the demand for effective treatment of Urinary Incontinence escalates, emerging technologies must be rigorously evaluated so that we can continue to provide high-quality evidence-based counseling and care.
@IndiaToday I am shocked that you are currently showing an Impact Feature on the use of lasers (a particular brand) in the treatment of stress urinary incontinence in women. The evidence backing the use of lasers in SUI is completely lacking. 1/n
Our consultant, Dr. Karishma was also invited as a panelist for an interesting panel discussion on Chronic Pelvic Pain. A big shout out to the organisers for a well arranged conference!
We at C.U.P had a great time at the 63rd All India Congress of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Lucknow. Our founder, Dr. Hegde (@hegde_aparna) was invited to speak on 'Management of Stress Urinary Incontinence' & 'Female Dysfunctional Voiding'. Both the lectures were well appreciated!
We at CUP are delighted to announce that our founder Dr. @hegde_aparna was awarded the 'Fellowship of the Sri Lankan Menopause Society' for her contributions to develop Urogynecology in Sri Lanka.
Indeed a proud moment for us!
So honoured to receive this: Menopause Society of Sri Lanka conferred the 'Fellowship of Sri Lankan Menopause Society' award on me for contributions made towards developing Urogyn in Sri Lanka last month. Am only the second international doctor to be so awarded after @MA_Lumsden
The citation was read out in a stirring ceremony in front of international luminaries such as Prof. Arulkumaran following which I gave a keynote address on Incontinence. A day later, I conducted a day long Post-Congress workshop on Incontinence and Urodynamics. Just so grateful!
I will be live on Instagram on the Seekmed instagram site tomorrow at 8 pm India time to take any questions you may have on Urinary Incontinence in women. See you there.
