Patients sharing their stories is a key part of getting information out to everyone and raising awareness of health issues. Thanks to @TheSun for sharing this patient story and reminding us that an enlarged prostate can affect young men and not just when you're old. Minimally invasive procedures like #iTIND are changing the treatment options for men

With #AI developing at such a pace, it was exciting to see it in action last week as part of #prostatecancer diagnosis and the reporting of biopsy results.
We are delighted that @SimonBott6 was the first in the UK to use AI to interpet prostate biopsies pathology, working with @InifyLabs at @ParksideSuite resulting in quicker and more accurate diagnostics.
The images below show the biopsy before and after AI interpretation. The image on the left shows the biopsy core and on the right, the highlighted pink and purple areas indicate the cancer cells.

Of the 66,000 men identified, 21,905 took part.
Prostate Cancer was detected in 1.4% of men who had a PSA test.
This worthwhile study has shown that we can undertake a targeted screening programme to identify clinically significant cancer, particularly in "at risk" men, without burdening GP services.
It was a busy week @BAUSurology#BAUS25 and great to have @SimonBott6 presenting results from The Targeted Prostate Health Check Programme. A study funded by @NHSEngland and run through the Surrey and Sussex Cancer Alliance.
Great to see our PhD student @NikhilMayor present the #TRANSFORM trial at tonight’s @Uroweb UROwebinar: The role of MRI in prostate cancer screening and diagnosis
Recruitment to start later this year!
