We figured out why Cider happens to need manual Explicit Music opt-in vs. official apps.
This will be fixed in the next OTA, and won't require any input for you.
It's impossible to determine this at runtime, and on some systems it does automatically enable itself as per the driver whitelist.
Not all GPU configurations are considered 'stable' though in as per API guidelines therefore those systems need explicit opt-in due to potential framebuffer corruptions that could appear with shaders or complex visuals.
The default experience definitely shouldn't be bad without it however so that has us to believe your system doesn't support basic hardware acceleration which is certainly odd, though Linux is Linux.
