@QixOfMTF Digital color works in RGB additive color space whereas paint subtracts light, and maybe they're simulating more specific details about the physics of paint in that software.
So many people got duped. The media, insurance regulators, everyone.
Blue Cross was just trying to adopt the same anti-fraud rules Medicare *already* uses when paying anesthesiologists. And a doctor trade group bullied them into backing down. And "leftists" celebrated this!
@bookkeepPLUS@mattyglesias@RealJacobPerry Democrats should be held to the standard of being good. Two wrongs don't make a right. I'm unsure about the pardon but your argument is completely wrong.
@HeerJeet Antisystem IS right wing, when followed to its ultimate conclusion, since if you abolish systems all that remains are individuals to fend for themselves.
@funkel_art@andrewbstern@ArmandDoma@vanillaopinions Venture capital as a specific investment strategy is about investing in new businesses under the expectation most will fail but some will make lots of money. They might get impatient to push companies towards lots of money, but high risk high return is their whole thing.
The worst takeaway Democrats could have is we lost the election because Washington Post policy reporters like Jeff didn't cover the stakes of the election.
Our problem isn't the people who read Jeff Stein, it's the people who don't read Jeff Stein.
@mattyglesias It seems like an inevitable ideological sorting. The mindset that leads people to want to make the world better also leads to secular cosmopolitanism. You can pick out nominees who are "normal" but ultimately the broader coalition won't be that.
@mattyglesias It seems inevitable. Politicians can and should compromise, but progressivism is just the logical conclusion that educated people reach on their own, so you can't really keep it a secret the direction that history is arcing towards.
@mdhardeman@mattyglesias I mean, the government taxes people, so whatever financial benefit the private sector manahes to get out of government research, the government then gets a cut of it.
The tricky thing about bsky is remembering which accounts that left Twitter a while ago were accounts I probably would've unfollowed anyway because they're too aggro.
More time has passed between the introduction of Disco Stu and the present day than between the introduction of Disco Stu and the release of Saturday Night Fever.
@SockDemFan@daveweigel@justinbaragona There's nothing wrong with truncated graphs when you're talking about absolute differences, which we are. Nobody graphs temperatures starting at absolute zero. The issue is that it was extremely predictable that Harris would gain votes as California counted, not some graph bs.
@ezraklein Ideological sorting seems like it inevitably takes the ability to "build coalitions" away from political players. As politics becomes more 1D, half of all people are left of center and half of all people are right of center, and there's nothing more you can do about it.
