@Mud544823259826 @brandonkachen@jorilallo I have the opposite. hedge fund guys believe in infinite growth and creativity as revenue streams and commodities and investment opportunities. I think art has intangible limits that make it special by its finite quality that has nothing to do with its ability to be profitable
@Mud544823259826 @brandonkachen@jorilallo Not sure how you pulled that out from what Affleck was saying. It's an old, pithy bit of wisdom that's meant to say the biggest bit of art is not endlessly indulging oneself. The consumer selling point of generative AI is endless indulgence.
@Siofra_Mariner idk if i was someone who constantly says that game awards/journos are all irrelevant frauds i wouldn't be constantly seeking their recognition and validation. but i guess i'm not Gamer Enough.
@CypressDahlia american perception of travel has been absolutely poisoned by highway commuting. the default assumption is transportation/travel is awful.
@boujeenay1@stsaintsynth@Gracebal0@MrGee54 old people can have energy/lucidity in cycles or bursts. if you have relatives with alzheimers you'll know that they have good days and bad days
like biden up there could have a 6 month bloc where he's wandering around and then a month where he's hoppin and skippin. he's old.
@Mud544823259826 @brandonkachen@jorilallo A common adage is "an artist knows when to put the paintbrush down".
He's not referring to a career or learning something, he's talking about the process of creating art. if you're actually in the creative spaces you'd know this.
