As is often the case, Mr. Boulos engages in misleading narratives when referring to “the importance of ceasing external military support to the belligerents”.

This is not a conflict between two equal parties. There is a legitimate national army, fully entitled to obtain weapons lawfully from any source willing and able to provide them. On the hand, there is a non-state armed group — indeed, a genocidal militia according to the designation of the United States Government itself.

On what basis, then, can any moral or political equivalence be drawn between the two?
