What Dr. MT said is profound, yet on this space, it is part of the minority opinion people give, especially those who like to form money smartness. They forget that charity doesn’t decrease wealth. The more you give, the more you have. God won’t fail you in your endeavors.

Charity is a spiritual shield. It cleanses your earnings and quietly blocks so many hidden evils and trials that you might never even know were coming your way. You think you are losing numbers in your bank account, but you are buying safety, peace, and real blessings.

To the Muslims among us, I have a Hadith for you from the Prophet (peace be upon him). This narration is from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud.

أيكم مال وارثه أحب إليه من ماله؟ قالوا: يا رسول الله، ما منا أحد إلا ماله أحب إليه، قال: فإن ماله ما قدم، ومال وارثه ما أخر.
The Prophet asked his companions, "Which of you loves the wealth of his heir more than his own wealth?" They replied that everyone naturally loves their own wealth more. He then told them, "Verily, his own wealth is what he has sent forward, and the wealth of his heir is what he has left behind."

This shows that true ownership belongs to what you send ahead through giving. What you hoard is just wealth you are guarding for your heirs.

This is why I pity those who steal public funds. When you look at it deeply, they are not hoarding this money for themselves per se; Instead, they are doing it to make their heirs comfortable.

The tragic part is that those heirs will spend the wealth freely because to them, it is a legitimate inheritance. Meanwhile, the one who committed the crime, who might not even live long enough to enjoy it, will be the one left standing alone to account for every single dime.

To truly grow, you have to learn to let go 👏🏿
