At one of our Torch Insider meet-ups, I met a homeschooling mom, Carla Sumarriva. After talking with her, I thought she and her family would be perfect to test out Torch’s next big project.

For years, I have warned that AI will turn into AGI by 2030. Well, I recently heard @pmarca tell @joerogan that it’s ALREADY HERE.

This means AI is operating beyond expert human capability in most areas of knowledge, and you’re going to have that in your pocket. This is incredible, yet terrifying at the same time.

Bill Gates once said he couldn’t create Microsoft in today’s world, and he’s right. He couldn't. But with AGI, if you know how to prompt, your small company can compete against giant corporations. But the key is asking the right questions.

Andreessen said THAT is the skill everyone should master now: how to prompt. It’s not infinite knowledge that’s the focus. It’s discernment with your questions. This is a turning point for all of humanity, and I hope we can use it right without forming Skynet.

The use of Small Nuclear Reactors and tech companies using barges or other ocean-based methods is cheaper and has better Reliability, Availabikity and Maintainability (RAM) and up to 30% reduction in cost and reduced time to Production.
So, why the push for data centers on land and in drought striken areas?

@natalie_wadas @KUTV2News The solution is easy - restrict water usage and require alternative cooling solutions. More cost up front but actually saves money in the long run - kinda like solar, or geothermal heating, we gotta diversify our cooling sources.

Using water as primary cooling source is WRONG - I know, I have worked in this space for many years. Yes, using other solutions may initially be more expensive but it is more responsible.

I want data centers here - I also know what is at stake with Ai. We can figure this out.

Water cooled data centers for drought sensitive regions should have federal government incentives to subsidize alternative cooling solutions - because this 'Ai Race' is that important.

This data center 101 stuff people ;)

I get cooling is critical, but make water tertiary and get liquid and air as primary. Tons of water saved.

As a person who works with advanced technologies and Ai - I currently support this data center; only if the government can manage the use of resources to balance the needs of those who live in #Utah.
I think we can figure out the water issue - I just don't think #Cox can.
