If heading out to recreate this Memorial Day weekend, watch out for abandoned mines. Old mines can be covered by sagebrush, old boards, etc and difficult to see. Mines can be intriguing but can contain dangerous gases, unstable structures, and explosives. #stayoutstayalive
Getting out in the field assists OGM board members gain a better understanding of oil and gas operations. Thanks for the tour @UtahPetroleum@ovintiv and XCL
Today we hosted the board of @UtahOGM for a site tour. We visited @Ovintiv’s drill rig about to reach terminal depth and XCL‘s new E Frack multi well pad. Many thanks to Ovintiv and XCL and to the division and board for making this possible.
We're grateful for the work @UtahOGM does and love seeing them out explaining the many hats they wear, the work they do, and how they can be a resource. Cool story linked here: https://t.co/WFxwaabQ4Y

The police teamed with @UtahOGM at the end of December and in January, 2010 began cataloging and visiting hundreds of mines in proximity to PET that Josh Powell might plausibly have accessed.
Did you know? Electric vehicles require SIX TIMES more #minerals than gas-powered vehicles. #Mining is an essential part of the clean energy transition! #SupportMining
It's National Bat Week! Did you know that over half of the bat species in the US use mines for their homes?! To minimize impacts to bats, the AMRP conducts bat surveys to determine the best closure method (i.e. installation of bat gates). Photo: Silver haired bat near Moab
