Strong medicine for Utah.

[Jay W Lee MD MPH @familydocwonk]

Honored to join my #FMRevolution friends and colleagues at the @Utah_AFP annual member dinner tomorrow in SLC to deliver the keynote address, including an @aafp update, and to install their new president, Tyson Schwab, MD MS.

🙏Thank you to all of the MAFP members who have testified on legislation during the session. Pictured providing virtual testimony are Dr. Sally Tran, Dr. Frank Powers and Dr. Lynsey Drew.

Thanks to everyone who contacted their Rep in support of HB270! The bill has now passed the House and is being considered in the Senate. Reach out to your Senators and urge a “yes” vote. Find your Senator at https://t.co/xLDw5fB3MB & scroll to “Find Your Legislator."

Utah ranks 49/50 for primary care providers. And it may get worse: studies show 11% of docs plan to retire or severely cut back workload in the next 2 years. Primary care also has the highest burnout (57%+). 📣 Urge legislators to continue to oppose cuts to Item #70 & #100!

[UtahAFP @Utah_AFP]

📢Utah family physicians: your voice is needed now. Please contact your representatives and urge them to vote YES on HB270. Find your reps at https://t.co/0NkBMwcDpn

Utah graduates about 320 medical students each year — and nearly one-fourth pursue family medicine. But every graduate must match into a 3-year residency program to practice independently, and Utah has limited spots.

Protect residency funding. Oppose cuts to Item #70 & #100.

UAFP has raised concerns following news that the AI prescribing system Doctronic is being piloted in Utah. UAFP warned that AI without human oversight poses real risks, and urged regulators to slow the pilot and require clinician involvement: https://t.co/iM8r3cDZRo

The AAFP rigorously reviews the science so we can support family physicians in protecting patients through safe, effective vaccination. You can count on the AAFP childhood immunization schedule: https://t.co/KzGuBOEige

The idea that our health care system was humming on all cylinders prior to 2010 is some wild revisionist history.

[UtahAFP @Utah_AFP]

We urge you to get your medical information from trusted members of the medical and scientific community, not politicians. Trust the science!

Vaccines do not cause autism. Neither does acetaminophen (Tylenol) use in pregnancy. Decades of rigorous science have disproven these myths. Spreading them puts public health at risk. The AAFP is committed to science and supporting families. Read our full statement here: https://t.co/P1NsRbpPw2

[Shawn Martin @rshawnm]

"Family physicians join individuals with autism and their families and caregivers in wanting to fully understand the causes of autism, why the prevalence of autism is increasing and how to support individuals with autism. Continuing to promote myths about a vaccine-autism or acetaminophen-autism distracts from research and resources that will benefit people living with autism."

Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., committed to protecting the nation’s scientific and public health infrastructure. Today, we are left with a damaged public health system and an immunization review process devoid of experts and evidence.

We are calling on the President to re-evaluate Secretary Kennedy’s ability to serve in his current capacity. We also urge Congress to consider all options available to them to address the leadership void at the HHS. https://t.co/atRzRtGink

Grateful these governors are looking out for their citizens but this should not be partisan. Please @GovCox consider taking this action so all who CHOOSE to get the vaccine, can . Democratic governors build vaccine firewall against RFK Jr. https://t.co/Lu0nkDtvpU via @politico
