Did you know Jacob was buried with Leah, not Rachel? Not the woman he loved. Not the one he cried for. Not the one he labored fourteen years to have. Leah. In Genesis 49:29–31, when Jacob was about to die, he gave a clear instruction: “Bury me… in the cave… where Abraham and Sarah are… Isaac and Rebekah… and there I buried Leah.” Pause. Rachel was his passion. Leah was his alignment. Rachel was the love story. Leah was the covenant story. Rachel had his emotions.
Leah carried the promise. Rachel was buried on the roadside (Genesis 35:19). Leah was laid in the ancestral grave of covenant the lineage of God’s dealings. And here is the mystery: Leah was the rejected one. The one Jacob didn’t choose. The one he endured, not desired. But heaven chose her. From Leah came Judah. From Judah came Jesus Christ. Let that settle in your spirit The woman rejected by a man became central to God’s redemptive plan. This is where many people miss it:
 We are all trying to be “Rachel”seen, desired, celebrated. But God builds legacy through “Leah seasons”And that is the gospel pattern: God does not build His purposes on human preference. He builds on grace and election. So if you feel overlooked… if you feel like second choice…

if life has not chosen you first— hear this clearly: God’s choice overrides man’s rejection... if you’re in your Leah season you are being written into something bigger.

DON’T BEG GOD IN PRAYER

📖For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father (Romans 8 :15).

Your understanding and opinion of God, your relationship with Him, will certainly define how you pray. When your understanding is right, your prayer life will be filled with confidence, boldness and assurance. But when it’s skewed, prayer can become a struggle, filled with uncertainty, pleading and a sense of inadequacy.

Never approach God as though you’re a stranger trying to gain His attention. He’s your Father. What kind of children does a father delight in? Not the ones who come crying and pleading for everything as though they have no place in the home. Relate to God as your gracious, loving and caring heavenly Father who seeks your best more than you could ever imagine or desire for yourself.

That’s the truth. He loves you more than you love yourself. Therefore, understand your place in Him and with Him. He said in Hebrews 4 :16, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” What an invitation! He wants you to always approach Him with confidence, knowing that He delights in you.

The Bible says the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and His ears are open to their prayer (Psalm 34 :15). He delights in you to do you good. He daily loads you with benefits (Psalm 68:19). Hallelujah! In Christ Jesus, you have direct access to the Father. You have unhindered, unlimited access; use it: “In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him” (Ephesians 3 :12).

Read our opening scripture again; the slavish mentality has been taken away. Instead, you’ve been brought into sonship. When you beg, you’re not expressing humility but a lack of understanding of who you are. God doesn’t respond to that mentality. What He recognises is the consciousness of sonship, the confidence that comes from knowing Him as your Father and functioning from that perspective. Praise God.

Dear Father, I thank you for the Spirit of adoption in me by which I relate to you as my Father. I live with boldness and confidence, knowing that I belong to you and that all things are mine in Christ. I walk in the consciousness of my oneness with you, and in the fullness of my inheritance in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

REFUSE TO BE LIMITED BY THE FLESH

📖For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit (Romans 8:5).

As a Christian, you’re not to live by the dictates of the flesh. You’re not called to respond to life on the basis of what you feel, see, or experience physically; you’re called to live from your spirit. The flesh will always try to impose limitations of age, weakness, ill health, and lack, but you’re of the Spirit and not of the flesh.

Recall the words of the Lord Jesus in John 3:6, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” You’re born of the Spirit; you’re not defined by your body, and you’re not limited by physical conditions; you’re enabled by the life of God in you.

Some judge their lives by the feelings in their bodies; they say, “I feel weak,” “I feel tired,” “I can’t do this.” But that’s living from the flesh. You don’t live by how you feel; you live by who you are. You don’t respond to the emotions or sensations of the flesh; you respond to the Word.

The Bible says, “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day” (2 Corinthians 4:16). Your outward man may be weakening, but your inward man, the real you, is renewed daily. Your spirit is constantly rejuvenated, full of strength and divine vitality.

No wonder Paul, by the Spirit, tells us in Romans 8 :11 that if the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, that same Spirit shall vitalize your mortal body. And thanks be unto God, He lives in you; therefore, your body is quickened, energized, and made alive by His Spirit that dwells in you. Blessed be God!

Refuse to accept limitations. Refuse to speak weakness. Refuse to align yourself with the senses. You have a life that’s beyond this world; therefore, live from within, from your spirit, and you’ll walk in strength and victory because your life is governed by the Spirit of God who lives in you.

Dear Father, thank you for teaching me to live from my spirit. I refuse to be limited by the flesh or by natural conditions. I walk in the consciousness of who I am in Christ; I live above this world and its disabling influences. I walk in the dominion of the Spirit, manifesting the Christ-life in me, in Jesus’ Name. The Lord Is Your Peace

📖Isaiah 26:3
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you...

God wants you to enjoy a life full of peace-no panic, worry, or fear. Sometimes, when things feel tough, your heart may feel troubled. But when you fill your heart with God's Word, it:ll be filled with peace.

Remember the story of Daniel in the lions den (Daniel 6). Even though he was surrounded by lions, Daniel stayed calm because he trusted God completely, and God gave him perfect peace right in the midst of danger.

When you feel confused, worried about school, or upset about something, don't let fear take over your thoughts. Rather, remember God's Word. The Bible says that God gives perfect peace to those who trust Him (Isaiah 26:3).

So, choose to trust God by fixing your mind on His Word every day. When you do, God's peace will fill your heart-no matter what's happening around you.

THE KINDNESS OF GOD

📖And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him?... (2 Samuel 9:3).

In the Old Testament, the word translated “mercy” comes from the Hebrew word “hesed.” It means lovingkindness, but more specifically, it is covenant kindness; kindness rooted in covenant, not in merit. The example of David and Jonathan’s son, Mephibosheth, gives us a clear and practical picture of how covenant mercy works (2 Samuel 9).

Long after Jonathan’s death and well into his reign as king, David was moved by the covenant he had made with Jonathan. He asked a deliberate question: “…Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?” (2 Samuel 9:1).

David wasn’t asking if there was someone he could merely acknowledge. The word “shew” used means to demonstrate. David was looking for someone to whom he could practically and visibly demonstrate covenant kindness. In fact, in the 3rd verse, David called it the “kindness of God.” How profound!

Mephibosheth was lame in both feet and practically abandoned and forgotten by most. However, he was summoned to the king’s presence. But when he came before David, he fell on his face in fear. He expected judgment from the king who had succeeded his grandfather, King Saul.

But David’s first words were “Fear not”; that’s always the language of mercy. David restored to him all the land that had belonged to Saul and then offered him something greater still: a permanent place at the king’s table. This was covenant kindness, which David called “the kindness of God.”

Why did he call it the kindness of God? It’s because covenant kindness is shown toward someone who has no merit or claim to it. That person doesn’t qualify. True mercy flows from the greater to the lesser. By virtue of that mercy, the one with nothing is brought into royalty, lifted, honoured, and seated at the table, just as we are today seated together with Christ. This is the transforming power of covenant kindness.

It reminds of the Scripture: “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory...” (1 Samuel 2:8). Perhaps there’s someone coming to your spirit even now that requires your covenant kindness; go ahead and show that one the kindness of God.

Dear Father, I thank you for your covenant kindness and mercy toward me. I receive your lovingkindness with understanding and gratitude. I live in the consciousness of your mercy, enjoying the life of honour, fellowship and provision that you have brought me into, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
