Today the Honourable Member of parliament Aga Syed @RuhullahMehdi spoke in Parliament on the Finance Bill 2026 to highlight the continued injustice faced by Jammu & Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.

J&K has not been empowered—it has been stripped of its autonomy. Our governance and even bureaucracy have been centralised, distancing power from the people.

He reminded the House: this is not the India we acceded to. These are not the promises made to us.

Even our resources are taken—our energy while our own people remain deprived. The electricity generated from J&K lights up the other parts of India but the people of J&K do not get the fair share in revenue. It is not cooperative federalism, it is called EXTRACTION. We demand royalty, fair share in revenue and reinvestment.

Budget is not just about numbers. It is an instrument of justice dignity and rights.
