As soon as I got into work, a (non-medical) staff member asked for my urgent advice. She was confused after a consult at her own GP practice…

It’s transpired she’d seen a PA who’d introduced themselves as “between a nurse & a doctor” (?!)

After a 2 MINUTE conversation, it was pretty obvious what the diagnosis is - and yes it was a barn door “simple” one that I can guarantee ANY GP would get.

She has given:
❗️WRONG diagnosis
❗️Completely non-sensical treatment advice (which doesn’t even match the wrong diagnosis)

How is this safe for patients?!

A waste of time & resources all round. Are they replacing GPs for this?!

My all day NHS operating has been left with 3 out of 5 slots unused - 2 patients decided on Wednesday that the date did not suit (having previously confirmed) and 1 this morning did not want to wait to be second on the list, so left. They have waited nearly a year for surgery.
