The reason Miles Morales fails and is just Peter Darker is because the writers clearly don't understand what they created
Hes a black/puerto rican super smart dude with BOTH parents and he's from Brooklyn and he's also Spider-Man. He'd be one of the smoothest dudes in all of comics. Not some nerdy awkward guy like Peter. He'd have any chick he wanted. He'd never have to worry about money cuz he'd be a hustler (the right way though like doing people's work and fixing computers and stuff) and above all else he wouldn't want to be called Spider-Man. He would have his own name because he is his own man and he would want to separate himself
When you start looking at the character from the lenses of someone who actually knows the area and people, you understand that Marvel didnt even try to standout forreal. They just slapped a black skin on a Spider-Man and called it representation when all they really did was create a hollow husk of a character thats so lost in what to do they constantly recycle villains from other heros and/or make him those other heroes. Its wack as hell forreal
The mismatch between Japanese and global advertising is always one of the weirdest things to me. You can see beautiful Japanese anime ads getting thousands and thousands of likes and entire internet movements forming around them, yet the boomers at the highest levels of the corporate ladder just seem to ignore it. I can’t help but feel like they deliberately tune it out and continue trusting their outdated “gut instinct,” despite huge numbers of people openly showing that they hate grotesque ads featuring fat people chowing down on slop.
But honestly, this might be one of the only periods in human history where this kind of disconnect can exist. Twenty or thirty years from now, when the boomers are deep in the grave and more recent generations have climbed higher up the corporate ladder, I think this phenomenon of ugly ads that seemingly appeal to no one will finally start disappearing.
I think Mega Man hiatuses are measured on a lunar scale
Volnutt is on an ultra-hiatus, so he's on the moon
X is on hiatus, so they're in an elevator to the moon
Mega Man is still rolling along, so he's on Earth
Zero had a definitive ending, so he's six feet under
think
The last time we got a new Mega Man X game
Bush was President
The Xbox 360 was a year away
Spider-Man 2 was barely 6 months old
YouTube didn’t exist
