Shout out to Cummings High school marching band for coming out and leading the 1st graders in our own “Balloons over Sylvan” parade.
Students worked all week to make their very own Balloon to showcase during the parade.

Wow! We read a non fiction text about oceans and how the ocean is used for many different things ( transportation, food, medicine). We used fine motor skills to paint their ocean, create some ocean animals and BAM! An ocean for everyone. @SylvanElem @ABSSPublic #finemotor

THEY amaze everyday in math. Our MD.1 math standard was no match for them. We compared three different objects(they were given 2 and had a free choice for the 3rd). Students had to use their vocabulary to create verbal sentence using those objects. @SylvanElem @ABSSPublic #math

Students read a news article about snowmen and sandmen and then got to create their very own out of “snow” or “sand”. It was another successful day in First grade. RI.1 review of asking and answering questions was a HUGE HIT. @SylvanElem @AplusSchoolsNC @ABSSPublic
