Against all known science and confusing fiction for harm.
American Enterprise Institute Daniel Lyons suggests to reintroduce unconstitutional law Act of 1996 (CPPA).
That will criminalize Survivor stories

@VenomsTech But this means we don't own our own technology this means this is going to be rent a computer and they're going to be able to up those prices you will not own or be able to modify or even do anything with the games that you have
@VenomsTech It's also weird because Brazil has strong speech restriction laws and I think Microsoft is trying to comply with that. To the point where you build something in single player can get you banned from owning the game. It's so baffling to say the least and depressing all the way
Imagine losing your entire Xbox library because your account got hacked… and instead of helping you, the platform permanently bans your account.
That’s exactly what happened to a gamer in Brazil.
A court has now ordered Microsoft to restore his account, bring back his full digital library, and pay him around $400 in damages. Microsoft reportedly fought the case with a 300-page defense and a team of lawyers but still lost.
It’s one person’s case, but it raises a much bigger question for all of us.
Do we really own our digital games, or do we only have access to them until a company decides otherwise?
@DungeonNoir Them trying to clear up their image is just corporate gentrification and colonization. Not to mention responding to mobs that have no idea and are certainly not in any way Progressive it's the satanic Panic all over again in a different coat of paint
Respectfully, the issue isn't about the art. it's the fact that the art is evidence that WotC misunderstands what Darksun is as a setting. It's not "edgelord brutality." It's about surviving both a world decimated by ecological disaster and the societies that adapted to that disaster.
@juliecbarrett Even then the voluntary part is still questionable. Both ethically and whether or not people can understand the terms of service. Some data collection is necessary but why do they need all that other stuff? It certainly not stopping criminals.
@CatbertDeVil@MattInformed "But I'm already in chains".
That doesn't mean the government or private Corporation should have put you there in the first place
Just because citizens have voluntarily chosen to give their data to Big Tech does not mean the government should MANDATE every user to give verified identity data to Big Tech just to participate in the digital world.

The argument that they use is dishonest Mike Lee is someone that wants to eliminate all porn as per project 2025 and the interstate obscenity definition Act. He is not a trustworthy man.
The Mormon church is a child abuse machine
@RichardHanania I'm sure some intelligent conservatives exist but I don't think anyone who's constitutionally minded anyone who cares about Liberty anyone cares about civil rights and Liberties would ever align themselves with the current GOP
@nym Him and the very suspicious I'll talk to her and questionable Man known as Ken Paxton.
Meanwhile the people that are pushing for the bill and say that hr7757 isn't strong enough are the ones caught in Scandal with abusing kids
🇺🇸Ted Cruz is pushing federal age verification for adult websites through the Senate.
The bill that started with adult content will not stay pointed only at adult content.
It never does.
@AI_EmeraldApple Or maybe they should all be labeled Ai and slop and just not do this I am not a fan of AI being used for Creative works like this. It doesn't help the person it makes the whole thing for them. There's nothing intelligent about it
And yet people still bought it on the other hand if the swimsuits were not toned down people would still buy it anyway. I do not know why people get so upset over fiction. That some censor has to look at something and say no. This is a problem as old as time
Square Enix made sure their Final Fantasy VII swimsuit designs were toned down for people allergic to the female form in fiction & it's still not enough, which only goes to demonstrate that trying to appeal to their sensibilities in any capacity is a fool's errand.
Not only does doing so fail to appease these types who need not be listened to in the first place, it alienates the original audience that enjoyed things as they were.
This neurotic focus on "ethics" in character attire is patently absurd & only serves to limit fantasy.
