🌀 DON’T LET A QUIET HURRICANE SEASON CATCH YOU OFF GUARD!

It’s still Atlantic Hurricane Season, Virginia! 🌊 Even when tropical activity is below normal, it only takes ONE storm to impact our communities.

[Virginia Department of Emergency Management @VDEM]

✅ Stay informed through trusted sources, including the National Hurricane Center and the National Weather Service.

Remember: Below-normal activity does NOT mean zero risk. Hurricane season continues through November 30, and preparedness matters right through the end.

A strong non-tropical low pressure area is expected to form during the next day or two off of the eastern coast of the U.S. This low is likely to move slowly and erratically through the middle of next week, and some subtropical development is possible during this time. Regardless of development, this system will cause high winds, coastal flooding, and dangerous surf along portions of the U.S. East Coast. Please consult statements and warnings from local National Weather Service offices and the @NWSWPC for more information.
