Our marking boycott began seven weeks ago on 5 May with a ten-day strike. We have made concrete proposals for a deal with @QMUL senior management. So, why can't they negotiate seriously? Most boycotting UCU branches have reached a deal - let's see how quickly, and what they won🧵

QMUL Students: one of my lecture mates suggested taking Colin the Caterpillar cakes to the picket lines to metaphorically eat the rich
Don't support anti-union institutions 👏
My PhD project looks at queer speech (phonetic and discourses), as part of an ethnography of young people in LGBT+ school groups. Shout if your work is relevant or just interesting!

So proud to say I achieved a First Class degree in Linguistics including a 1st in my #dissertation on disambiguation in #ActuallyAutistic adults.
What can I say, I love ambiguity more than most people (pun intended)
@UniKent@ArtsHumsUniKent @KentELLyeah
@Punderful@lingthusiasm Fantastic idea! I had a go for my dissertation "Primary Pragmatics In Autistic Adults"
Autistic adults we often ignore
And their abilities we never explore
Expectations were exceeded
They follow cues when needed

@linguistlaura I'd say they were acceptable in my judgement. I use this construction a fair amount. although it's usually in the plural, if x is singular it really emphasises that the reason is this One Big Thing
I finished my linguistics diss & degree! I'm holding so many emotions right now, some joyful & some painful. But I am incredibly proud that I used my voice to write about something I am very passionate about. Thank you to everyone at @KentELLyeah & @UniKentSSW#ActuallyAutistic
@ramyeonjpg@OpenAcademics 👻 [ghost emoji] autistic lingustics student planning to start my MA later this year. tweets about linguistics and being trans & disabled in academia. nice to meet you!
@APHADisability I would love to apply, but I have a question about the abstract. I think your DMs are off, is there another way to contact you? Thanks @APHADisability
Super quick to do and trans friendly gender options (thank you <3). Am I able to receive a copy of the dissertation once it's completed? I'm really interested in the findings! @sociolinguista
"... gender is not binary, but it is equally important to remember it is not ternary either. By that, we mean that using three options of male, female and non-binary are not exhaustive, where nonbinary is being used as an identity and not an umbrella term" quote from my diss
Ooh I'm tempted.... my undergraduate dissertation is on primary pragmatic abilities in autistic adults... very tempted #ActuallyAutistic#AutisticsInAcademia
We voted no for another reason as we are the hosts of the Twitter Conference, LOL!
All joking aside, have you submitted yet? We want to learn about your work and help support your success.
