Today I visited the Darou Salam Islamic Community mosque in the Bronx to listen, learn, and stand in solidarity with a community that is an essential part of New York’s fabric.

Imam Bamba Hedree, Darou Salam Islamic Community, said:
“We thank Andrew Cuomo for visiting our mosque today in the Bronx, and for continuing to make time to visit mosques across the city. His willingness to sit with our community, connect on the shared tenets of faith, and listen to our hopes for New York is deeply meaningful. Cuomo’s right—Mamdani’s entire platform is a Molotov cocktail aimed at NYC’s stability. Let’s break it down: Cuomo governed with actual results—launching NY’s Hate Crimes Task Force, securing synagogues, and pushing bail reform accountability. Mamdani? He’s a DSA puppet pushing “globalize the intifada” while voting to gut NYPD gang units and decriminalize prostitution. Three bills passed in three terms? Pathetic. Even his own Assembly colleagues call him a no-show.

Meanwhile, Cuomo kept order through COVID, terror threats, and economic crises—Mamdani’s idea of leadership is TikTok slogans and rent freezes that’d collapse housing markets overnight. His “defund NYPD” fantasy isn’t progressive—it’s pro-crime lunacy. NYC isn’t a playground for socialist experiments.

Cuomo’s record proves he’ll protect the city. Mamdani’s record proves he’ll burn it down to fuel his activist clout. The choice is simple: competence or chaos.

.@ZohranKMamdani has declared himself a “socialist,” labeled police “racists” and “a threat to public safety,” called for them to be “defunded, disbanded, and disarmed,” and defended the slogan “Globalize the Intifada,” widely understood as a call for violence against Jews. He opposes jails and other “carceral” facilities, advocates legalizing prostitution and the drug trade.

These are not progressive positions. They are extremist ones that would devastate New York’s economy and imperil public safety. And they are held by a 33-year-old, two-term assemblyman with the worst attendance record in the Legislature, and having passed only three bills. His résumé includes stints as a rapper and a housing counselor. He has never managed more than a handful of employees.

New York is a city of 8 million people that has endured terrorist attacks, pandemics, natural disasters, and economic crises. Leadership here requires competence and experience. Mamdani has neither.

His positions shift as the wind blows because, while he decries politics as usual, he is the ultimate politician: a coreless vessel who will say anything to get elected. He is an existential threat to New York City and the Democratic Party.

My father would never forgive me if I didn’t do everything I could to stop him.

Just visited the NYPD officer who was senselessly slashed at her precinct this morning.

She is going to recover and is in good spirits, but this incident is a reminder of the danger our brave men and women in uniform face every day protecting our city. Thank you for all you do.

This morning, I had the honor of joining the congregations at Calvary Baptist Church and Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Queens. Surrounded by faith and community, I discussed my First 100-Day Agenda to restore opportunity, tackle affordability, and improve public safety across NYC.

Our city is facing real challenges, but together, with faith and determination, we will rise to the occasion.
