@VG_VoiceNetwork
VGVN is a network of women's rights activists who work collectively 2 promote women's rights within the local community & across the nation #LetAfghanGirlsLearn
🇦🇫Afghanistan: The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that starts on 25 November – the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women – and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.
However, for the fourth consecutive year, Afghan women and girls are exposed to the most serious forms of systemic discrimination and abuse by the Taliban de -facto authorities.
This year @amnesty, during the #16daysofactivism campaign, will highlight ongoing women’s rights abuses in Afghanistan, bring voices from Afghan women and girls and human rights defenders and promote our global petition targeting international community to hold the Taliban accountable.
Join us in our #16DaysofActivism campaign and show your support and solidarity to women and girls in Afghanistan.
#Endgenderpersecution
1112 days since the Taliban banned girls from school. Millions of girls are out of classrooms, in the ONLY country in the world that bans female education.
Why are we not outraged? How have we allowed this to happen in 21st century? How can we let the Taliban get away with this?
Meryl Streep in her speech at the UN said “a female cat being freer than Afghan women”. She pointed out that while a cat can sit outside in the sun or chase a squirrel in the park, Afghan women are denied such simple freedoms.
For 20 years we took everything for granted, but because of the wrong poltics of global community we are back to zero location.
We will win this battle!
